Wow that was fun. Not at all what I thought would happen. (I thought it would be a 3-6 pt. nail biter) but
was thrilled with the results.
Weather was funny, nice in the first quarter then the clouds rolled in and it was chilly and breezy in the 2nd quarter then in the 3rd the clouds parted got a little warmer and was very nice the rest of the game.
I was a disappointed with the crowd. Not as big as I expected with it being All U day and not really that loud. I did notice a big reduction in canned music. Thank You.

The Game: INMO this was the most complete game by both the offense and defense in the Franklin era.
While Illinois aren't world beaters they are not a bad team and have a pretty decent defense and a QB that was only sacked 8 times and is very efficient.
All facets of our game were clicking yesterday. Kudos to Tyler Davis for coming in and hitting some big FG's and his extra points.
Was there a problem? injury to Joey J? those kicks were were really low and pretty bad.
Hack had a great game. He was accurate and moved around to buy himself some time in the pocket.
Also used some touch to feather a couple of nice passes to Barkley and Allen on Screen Passes.
WR's had some really nice moves and routes.
Mike G. caught 2 passes.
Barkely was good and just missed going all the way on few runs.
I thought the O-line did a great job. I really like Laurent at center. Palmer missed a couple today but overall he did pretty good and keeps improving. I still think we have some "issues" on the interior, specifically the RG. I'm not sure if I would mess with the alignment next week even if Nelson is healthier.

Defense was spectacular, sacked Lunt 4 times and hurried him a bunch of others.
Really liked the scheme that Shoop came up with. It looked like he made some adjustments in the 1st quarter and then used that the rest of the game. Tackling was much better but I think it helps having more of a traditional offense. Hopefully with all the rest they got in the 4th quarter will help next week.

Just and outstanding job by the coaches and players.

Got back in time to see some other games.
I was not impressed with the offense or defense of Michigan. Jabril Peppers is excellent and outside of him and the TE the offense was unimpressive.
Mine flat out should have won, that series to end the game was flat out horrible.

Kudos to Temple, they are a much better team than some will admit and will be a handful next season
for us.

The officials for the Miami/Duke game should all be fired. There was no excuse for them to screw up that final play so badly. 3 blocks in the backs 2 BLATANT ones, a knee down and an extra Miami player running down the field with his helmet off in the field of play. Inexcusable.
