Some of these have probably been said so forgive me since I haven't read the board since Fri.
1.) Awesome job by the students and crowd. I didn't hear what the attendance was but my guess is it must have been over 104,000. The White out actually looked pretty good, even at noon. I was surprised about the lack of Michigan fans, while they had a decent amount there I've seen more.
2.) The "pat down" to get into the gate was a joke. For instance I had to turn over my bag of Peanut M&M's and bottle of water I had in my sweatshirt at the Illinois game. This time I got a pat down and got in with both my M&M's and bottle of water. LOL.
As for the Game...
1.) Not sure what the staff did on their week off but I didn't see anything new or even improved.
2.) I'm going to guess that people are just bashing Donovan left and right but really I'm not sure what else he could do. Maybe roll Hack at more and go back to some of those WR' outs that worked last year (and Michigan killed us with). but out side of that they tried a bunch of stuff including a jumbo backfield and
Barkley got stuffed for a 5 yard loss. Bottom line until we get an offensive line that is either stronger or better at blocking we will not be successful no matter who the OC is.
3.) Our Te's and not very good, either at catching the ball or blocking.
4.) I thought the secondary played pretty well considering how much time Ruddock had but my god I haven't seen this sloppy of tackling by a PSU defense in a long, long time. I thought it was bad at NW and I thought we were tired but I have no excuse for it this time.
5.) Franklin needs to take a serious look at who is coaching the Special Teams and what they are doing.
I get that last year that covering kicks was an issue because of walk-ons but that excuse is pretty thin now.
That goes for punt returns too. We fumbled once yesterday on a punt that I thought the CW is to let it go when its inside the 10 and we almost fumbled another one earlier. I hope I live long enough to see a kick return for a TD against a good team.
6.) Good news is we got a much needed LB'r commit.
7.) I felt bad for Nassib and Lucas having to miss their last home games.
8.) Finally its a good thing that THE OHIO STATE players haven't had to face the same adversity that PSU players have because if they had they would have bailed on team and school 3 years ago.
