Dynasty teams with multiple Hall of Famers. Obviously Big Red Machine and several Yankee teams. What are the chances of the Phillies from 2007 - 2011? Roy H, guess you can consider him a Phillie. Howard had some great years cut short by injuries, probably not Hall, at least Phillies Wall of Fame. For me, Rollins and Utley should go to the Hall.

Braves with Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz, and Jones. Only one WS (like the Phillies from 2007-2011) plus five WS appearances and an unprecedented 14 straight division titles.

Good call here. Hard to believe the Braves only got one world series win with all of that pitching talent. As a Pirate fan though, that's what they get for Sid Bream.

It's odd to say but it seems that the Pirates still haven't recovered from Sid's slide after nearly 30 years. Extremely odd for a proud franchise like the Bucs. I'm a Braves fan but my wife's family were all Pirates fans so I root for Pittsburgh unless they're playing Atlanta. I hope they can finally get off the deck...and soon. It's been far too long for them.

In thinking what might have or should have been:

The '60s Cubs had Santo, Banks, Williams (three of their starting eight) and Jenkins. Four HOFers and did not even win a division title.

The Pirates in the '60s had three future HOFers in Maz, Clemente and Stargell and did not win a division title till '70.

Huh?? The 60’s Giants, Dodgers and Cards were all loaded themselves, as were the Pirates. And Divisions didn’t start until ‘69. Bucs Winning the East in ‘70, ‘71, ‘72, ‘74 and ‘75. Just had the misfortune of having to play the Reds in 3 of those years.

Both the Braves and the '11 Phils almost had 4 aces pitching. Phils had Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Hamels. The Phils were a fun team to watch back then, and I'm a Cardinal fan
Phillies blew it in 2011. Cardinals were easily the hottest team in baseball down the stretch. Phils ended the season well in front and had a 3 game series vs Atlanta. If they just lost that series, slumping Atlanta gets in instead of the Cardinals. Instead, the Phillies sweep and end up getting dumped by the red hot Cards. You could see it a mile away.

From wiki:

“The Cardinals spent much of the early part of the 2011 season in first place in the NL Central standings but dropped to second place for good on July 27. On August 25, the team trailed the Atlanta Braves in the NL wild cardstandings by 10+1⁄2 games. The Cardinals amassed a 21–9 record from August 26 to September 27, while the Braves were 10–19 over that same interval. Meanwhile, on September 23, the Milwaukee Brewersclinched the NL Central division title. On September 28, with the Cardinals and Braves tied atop the Wild Card standings on the last day of the regular season, the Cardinals routed the Houston Astros 8–0 in Houston, while the Braves lost at home to the Philadelphia Phillies4–3 in 13 innings, securing the Cardinals' second wild card postseason berth in franchise history”
