Anyone have any info / insight on these 174 guys ? Thanks

"Notable" is being generous. Above-average D1 wrestlers but not guys who would be ranked in a Top 40. Deprez and Viruet were .500 wrestlers at 165 last year. Garcia was highly regarded out of HS, but hasn't wrestled much while at Cornell.

Viruet was a true frosh last year and I wouldn't be surprised to see him surface in the top 20 at some point this year. Deprez was also a frosh and is a tough kid , would expect him to contend to qualify this year. I get your point that they may not be tests for Hall, but you are a bit over dismissive of them.

Did someone say Geno?

You're right. Good kids

Harvard has entered their roster, which puts NCAA qualifier Josef Johnson among the 174 entries

Hall is going to destroy the field. Still, will be nice to see him in action.

Will there be any streaming or TV access for this? (Can you tell I am desperate for some PSU wrestling :)

Will there be any streaming or TV access for this?

good question.

FloWrestling -- not listed as an event they are covering

AmericaEast.com -- not listed as an event they are covering
(this is streaming for Binghamton and other schools on the East Coast)

Trackcast -- not listed as an event they are covering

Last year, TrackWrestling (their stream is Trackcast) did provide streaming of the Bearcat Open. Perhaps they'll do it again, even if it's not currently listed.

Scratches for PSU include Rasheed, Pipher, Van Cura, Nicholas.

George Carpenter was added.

Rasheed making a surprise entrance at Rec Hall?!?! Or is he having weight issues?

I'm bummed by those scratches, was looking forward to seeing those guys.

Early results: Friery lost 6-1, and Bisono goes down 4-3.

Stossel wins 5-2
Giangeneli wins 8-1(and looked really good doing so)
Dinmore over Pipa(Lehigh) 3-2

Deprez had an 8-0 win over Garcia. Not bad. Could be a solid final match-up for Hall. Deprez has NCAA qualifier Josef Johnson next.

Darmstadt just put an 11-1 hurting on Jake Jakobsen - I guess Stout is going to have his hands full. Bunch of touted young guys in this bracket. Kevin Mulligan and Jake Anderson also on Stout's side. Mulligan has a veteran kid from Binghamton to get through.

Looking for Dinmore to make the finals here - Pipa most likely the toughest opponent he has on his side.

Did Dalton Macri just get handled by Alex Vargas (trFr, 4th in NY last year)??? Or is that just a "trackism." That would be surprising unless Macri is struggling with the cut.

Macri has the rep of being terribly affected by his weight cut. He has some awful losses in his career.

Haven't seen Wreck Hall wrestle much folkstyle so was surprised to see the cradles. Did he do a lot of cradles in HS or is this a sign of COACHING?
