Lasley is wrong about a couple things. Indy did NOT return every significant player from last year. They lost key O-linemen and the line has had to be re-tooled. They lost Whop Philyor who was a senior and a key leader of the team. Without Philyor, teams can devote more resources to Fryfogel. I don't think Penix has suddenly forgotten how to play QB. But his performance reflects the whole offense. Defense -- the back 7 starters are back, but three new DL starters and all transfers. That's a lot of change. They could start to improve though. That defense has the potential to be tough for PSU but, again, PSU had almost 500 yards last year and this PSU offense is playing better. So on paper PSU should be able to move the ball again this year.

Lasley is right about one thing -- Indy had the ball bounce their way a good bit last year -- they were a good team that turned into a great team with a little bit of good fortune. But things tend to revert to the mean and this year might be a fairer reflection of where the Indiana program is -- good but not really great.
