On a personal level. As most know I was between Trump and Corey Comperatore on July 13th and as best I can tell the bullets passed fifteen feet in front of me.
Most all of those style weapons have magazines of 20 or 30 rounds….some have 50 or more. Yet the shooter only took eight shots. There was a pause of 12-15 seconds between his last shot and USSS shot that killed him. Why did he stop shooting?
A month later Congressman Clay Higgins released a five page report in which he revealed that a member of the Butler ESU team fired a round that hit his rifle and made him stop shooting. No doubt this saved several lives, possibly mine.
So with all that background…… I won’t say how I found out because he doesn’t want any attention..…but I got to shake the hand of the officer that took that shot and personally thank him. I think I was the only one there that figured it out as he was pretty shocked. Was a great moment.
