This might be hard to substantiate, but last night I had this thought... is this the greatest team ever when you factor in their youth? Consider this... excluding 133 the two "weakest" weights are our most senior weights - 141 and 197. Those weights are a returning AA and r12 person. I couldn't think of any other teams that have had this much talent performing so well so early. It's not just on paper anymore. Thoughts?

I think next years team could be the greatest ever at least on paper. Depends also if Nick Lee wrestles 141 and if Anthony Cassar is really a dinosaur.

The team this year is good. I think the team next year will be insane.

125 - Suriano
133 - Cortez
141 - Nick Lee
149 - Z-Pain
157 - Nolf
165 - Cenzo
174 - Hall
184 - Bo
197 - Mouse or Cassar
285 - Nevills

Iowa holds the all-time scoring record at NCAAs (170 in 1997).

If Cael choose not to redshirt Suriano or Hall next year, PSU will have a fighters chance to break 170. Six or more finalists is a possibility if everyone stays healthy and performs.

That number will be tough to reach especially with the change in scoring a few years back. Now you only earn 4 advancement points for reaching the finals, it used to be 5.

I think they have a reasonable shot at besting 170 next year. Not set in stone but they have potential for 6 champs next year. Remeber Nick Lee is ranked #8 in the USA in his weight at the SENIOR level right now.

Would love to see what that 170 would translate into today's scoring formate. Probably between 140 and 150 is my guess.
