Does anybody know if and when the official session start times will be released for both tournaments? I can't seem to find anything. I need to start planning my food and drink menus. Much obliged in advance!

The Event Times listed on the MSU site are Saturday 10 AM and 6PM for Sessions 1 and 2. Sunday session 3 starts at noon.

I think NCAA's are 12 & 7 on Thursday and 11 & 8 Friday & Saturday. Doors open at least 1 hour earlier.

What time zone for Cleveland....based on my flying from Berlin to get there it seems like Cleveland is on another planet which most assuredly has a different time zone.

If you are flying from Europe your best bet is to not worry what time zone you are in and just consult your phone when you get where you are going for the local time. Just saying. :D

Anyone have a good estimate of when session 1 of B1Gs will be over?
2:00 or so.

It's like watching 3 duals, time-wise, but without all the delays and intermissions.

120 total bouts, on 4 mats, equals 30 bouts per mat (3 duals-worth).

Big Tens:

Sat March 3
10am - Session 1
6pm - Session 2

Sun March 4
12 noon - Session 3
3pm - Session 4 / Championships

Question - I always forget when are the championship bracket bouts - does it work like this?

Session 1 - pigtails, first round & quarters ? Closing w wrestlebacks.

Session 2 - beginning round of wrestlebacks, followed by semis

Sessions 3 - wrestlebacks

Session 4 - title matches & medal matches.

Correct ?
Thanks ahead of time.

There are no pigtails, it's a 16-man bracket, with 2 byes.
Session 1:First and 2nd Rd (quarters) of Championships, and 1st Rd wrestlebacks
Session 2: 3rd Rd Championships (Semi's), & Rd 2 and 3 of wrestlebacks
Session 3: 4th Rd wrestlebacks (consi semi's), followed by what is called Session 4, starting at 3:00pm, consisting of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Place bouts.

When are the bouts for the four-man mini-bracket for spots 9-12? First round Session 2 after rd 2 of consis, with 9-10 match (and 11-12 match for 125) Session 3?

Honestly, can't remember exactly. Seems it's been handled differently the past several years. Sometime session 2 for the first 2 bouts (9 vs 12, 10 vs 11), then winners in Session 3, is what I believe should be close.

New rule in place just this year; 30 minutes between bouts required. Prior to this year it was a recommended 45 minutes. May affect the tournament, may not.

Yup. Same as Penn State. Mark Hall, is that you? ;)

But Cleveland is definitely in the Midwest, right? So how can it be Eastern Time Zone? :D I really miss the old devil emoji as it would be more appropriate here than the smiley face.

Thanks Roar

Specific Question

Beginning of Session 2 .... doesn’t the first action on the mats begin with Wrestlebacks ?

They don’t fire up the Semis right away .... IIRC .... I think they go thru a round of wrestlebacks, then start the semis at 125.

Just trying to plan my afternoon & evening
Thanks

By match numbers, it goes;
121 - 160 Wrestle-backs Rd 2
161 - 200 Championship Semi's and Wrestle-backs, Rd 3 (by weight class)
201 - 220 Wrestle-backs, Rd 4

I’ve seen the Nationals ESPN TV schedule. Is there a BIG TEN one anyone has available? Are the Big Ten’s being televised I hope? I guess I can just google it, but I’m case I do t find my answer and someone has to share... please do. And from a Buckeye fan... good luck to you guys this upcoming tournament and Nationals. May the best team win, and I pray for all our competitors health. As much as you’d think as a fan of the Buckeyes I wouldn’t want to see Nolf on the mat, nothing could be further from the truth. No true fan of the sport of wrestling would want to see nothing else other than Nolf trotting out there representing Penn State.

There is a pinned thread at the top of the page showing tv and streaming options for all PSU meets and tournaments.

Does BTN+ have multiple mats shown? Forget from last year. I assume they do.

Heading up to Cleveland with my 2 cousins and brother in law. We do not have tickets yet. Plan on getting up there Thursday evening. Will buy tickets if possible, if not does anyone know of any bars that will be showing the action?
With Basketball on those days, it might be tough to find many wrestling centric bars on East 4th and the downtown cleveland area.

How I forget this every year, I have no idea. But I just want to confirm which BTN+ plan I need to get for the Big Tens. I believe I sign up for the Penn State only, and not the full conference, plan for the month of March and that gives me access to all mats for the Big Ten Tournament. Is that correct?

BTN+ (PSU only) is what worked for me last year. I have the Flo subscription this year, so I am assuming they will also have BIGs covered on Flo.
