Seems like he has had a solid year before being DFA'd by the Royals. Who gets pushed out of the Pirates bullpen mix? Philly guys, whats your feeling on him?

Blanton was solid for the Phillies in 2008 but that was seven years ago. Nowadays he'd be a good guy to have around just to eat up a few innings. Since the Pirates are in the mood to bring aboard ex-Phils, why don't they make a run at Howard to replace Alvarez?

he isn't going to win you the world series. essentially i could only see him as a long reliever position to eat innings in the dog days of heat the next 6 weeks to try to keep some of your better pitchers fresh.

That would be a huge mistake - IMHO........unless what you are talking about is a trade for some other position of need.

I'd take Worley over about 4 other guys already on the staff.

I would most likely guess Guerra is out. Pretty ordinary and not really a guy for the future.
