Board rules question?

I'll get back to on this once my world settles down from the turmoil this change has caused.
If it ever does........

Are we still doing "OT" and "FC" in front of certain subjects now that the board is all shook up?

Do we still throw flags when mentioning attractive women without posting a link or photo?
Not if I can't have thread view. I am changing my policy too. And THEY need to remember that they get MY services for free, so they should not complain.:)

I still think it's a good policy. It tells those whose focus is on PSU sports and PSU-related issues that the thread has nothing to do with those subjects. I haven't enforced the OT for several years, in part because the Subject line usually indicated it was OT. Since those that use to display the board in thread view only see 1 Subject line in the new format, I think OT is a good practice. FC is a board tradition, and it's nice to keep those. Merging threads is a lot easier in the new format (well, technically about the same work, but merged threads no longer destroy the display of thread view. Plus, I don't feel like spending all my time merging threads, so FC is the way to go.

Flags are a board tradition, and that's not going to change just because of a modification of the board format. Flags are still expected.

While you didn't ask about them, I'm not exactly sure how to handle XXX or NSFW posts. I think if you initiate the thread, you should include that in the Subject, as was the existing board rule. The challenge is that if somebody adds something to the thread that is XXX or NSFW, there's no way for that poster to include that in a Subject line, since the responder doesn't have a Subject line. Anybody have any idea how to handle that?

I believe it should be a flag just to mention "mentioning attractive women" without a photo of one, so here is one of my favorites, Diane Lane.

Rivals is using the xenForo message board software, which does have a spoiler alert plugin enabled. Perhaps something like that is possible for NSFW content as well. Let's try it....

LionFan96, I think you are the man to fix all the problems with this new system.

I'll see your Diane Lane and raise you a sportswoman - the one and the only . . . . Paula Creamer.

Very nice. Perhaps she could have her name put on the Creamery. The Creamer Creamery sounds good to me. And a photo like this makes me think of milk.

Very Cool, although as you can see, if you don't hide the NSFW/Spoiler content it will show up when you quote it.
