Alright I am convinced he transcends expectations.

Put me in the camp coming into the year that Bo would once again be a national champ, but I was convinced the move up would reduce his bonus potential, wrestling stronger beefier men. I thought he would eventually trail Nolf and fall down to about 4-5th in the Hodge discussion.

Now about 1/3 of the way in I think he looks better than ever, stronger than as a 185, and he has lost nothing in terms of athleticism or speed as he grows. I am convinced that his level of skill differentiates himself even more at 197 than at 185 - these are awesome times and I am trying to enjoy every moment of his last year, without bursting into tears.

I still think Nolf wins the Hodge, but at Bo's current pace it would be a Shame to deny either one. Let's start the co-Hodge hype as the season matures.

Agree, what an incredible 4 year run it's been so far for those two.

Regarding Bo...how many B10 wrestlers can claim they pinned every Iowa wrestler they faced in their entire career. ;)

Hoping he gets a chance to extend that streak.

Have to believe that being DT's training partner has had a positive effect and more then prepared him for anything he might encounter this year!

Nice t-shirt

I'm holding out accolades until he finally beats PDIII.

Not that fiasco last time, I'm talking about a fully rested, well trained PDIII in a tournament where the brackets aren't rigged and Nickal goes mano-to-mano upper body to the win, instead of some noodle-armed TD to tilt p&ssy stuff.

If that happens I'll be the first to award Bo his very first (M) National Championship. Not happening till then.

Bo is a generational talent. It will be a true injustice if he or Nolf doesn't win a Hodge, which it's likely that one of them won't. If they both run the table at the bonus rate that they're going, it would be cool for the powers that be to say "f@#k it, co-Hodge winners are Jason Nolf and Bo Nickal from Penn State University. "

I was at the Penn State Wrestling Club Banquet last year when they presented Zain with the Hodge trophy. I thought it was kind of a shame that they did not give Bo more attention for coming in 2nd. They should have taken some photos of Zain and Bo with the Hodge trophy because it has to be rare to have two guys on the same team finish 1 and 2. Hopefully if things continue to play out this season they will not make that mistake with Jason and Bo, where either one would be more than deserving of the Hodge. I don't want to count my chickens before the eggs are hatched but the odds are looking pretty favorable.

Rare, yes...but also happened in 2012, Taylor winning, Ruth 2nd...which was the first time. Now we're looking at the 3rd time in eight years, all Penn Staters. Good health, wrestlers.

The top 3 or 4 from the same school would be super rare... like the 100 year or 1000 year storms we seem to get about every five years. :)
