Im lazy and got things to do this morning so Im putting this out there for someone who followed this and may have greater insight

I was led to believe that Caels contract would be announced on the heels of the BOT meeting. complete rumor, but it was my hope the rumor was right.

so same source texts this morning that the drama from the BOT meeting led to a delay in getting the necessary votes and now the ADept is now working on a different plan to get this out there because the next board meeting is weeks off. Anyone know the schedule of the BOT meetings? Is it after start of classes?

Is this whole thing BS?? I know not having the staff signed on is, but is the rumor?

Hopefully its clear Im not a journalist, but just a DB with a social forum hobby...so dont shoot the messenger!

If that's all true, it would put to rest the argument that Barbour didn't need Board approval because, per PSU's Compensation Committee Operating Guidelines, Cael isn't a Tier IIA coach (i.e., football & basketball). I had expressed skepticism that the matter was that simple for Barbour.

So this is a result of the walkout on Lubrano discussed on the Football board?

Geez, schedule a special meeting by phone and get this thing done. I'm hoping the bylaws at least allow for a telephonic meeting and vote with a quorum.

Late now but the entire story in the original post is absolutely false. Literally zero truth.

Which story?
Not positive, NoVa...I believe what Pennoyer is saying is that the idea that Cael's contract would be discussed and voted on by the BOT was #fakenews. Not in this thread, but in another, someone took it down that path. The document that I saw, listing coaches whose contract is discussed (in fact, required to be discussed), does not include Head Wrestling Coach.

Which story?

The charges against Billy Gambini & Stan Rothenstein for shooting the clerk in the Sac-O-Suds were dropped in light of new evidence. I don't know if Billy ever made restitution for the stolen can of tuna.

Just a what if...

If there was a contract issue about facilities and future upgrades to stay #1, perhaps the issue came up in a different form at the BOT meeting. That is, it may not have involved a direct discussion of Cael's contract.

Were there any discussions or approvals relative to facility changes or access to facilities that could impact the wrestling program?

Note: This is not based upon anything but speculation about other possible ways the BOT might have discussed or influenced the wrestling program.

The only item even remotely related to wrestling was the hydrotherapy reference in the
Committee on Finance, Business, and Capital Planning Agenda.

I personally believe, given their bylaws, it was not discussed formally. Heaven only knows what's said in bathrooms and bars.
