Sean deserves a ton of credit for even playing. Two weeks of prep, neither CV or TR showed much obviously. Illinois knew Cliff would not run, huge advantage. Couldn’t make the throws. It showed all game.

Obviously PJ was the best defensive player by a long shot. Illinois went right at us all day.

No QB, no great DT, bad recipe. Next week will be horrific, November could be 0-4, 1-3. I’d sit Cliff until he is healed now.

Can Franklin keep the team fighting throughout the next 5 weeks? That’s gonna be huge on a lot of fronts.

Why are we so thin at all positions?

We started the season without a viable backup QB. This is what you can expect. Everybody knew Levis was going to transfer.
It appears that Clifford should not have been playing from a player safety standpointt. Thankfully, he did not appear to get seriously re - injured. A lot of players in Sean’s shoes might have declined to play.
Franklin has watched Roberson for three years starting this year, and he should have had some idea that he wasn’t going to be able to do it.

Gave up 357 rushing and Illinois lost yards rushing in the 9 OTs
