Well worth the listen.

Franco is great! He is in the fight to clear Joe's name for the duration. He doesn't have a deadline. He will eventually be vindicated.

Just the other day, PSU filed notice that they intend to bring suit vs. TSM and, I presume, its BOD. From what I understand, PSU is saying TSM and Raylovitz knew about Sandusky well before 2011 and failed to take action. On the surface, it seems like a curious filing, weirdly timed, etc. I have been away from the board for the most part all weekend, so I don't know if that got much attention or not.

Could this notice of filing in some way be related to the Freeh materials review conducted by the A9+?
Maybe (in a place far, far away....) this is why the A9 capitulated with the OGBOT and gave in on some things..... in exchange for the discovered materials to be exposed in this manner?

Just spitballin'.

I guess it does make sense that if Spanier is guilty of a crime, then so is Raykowitz because both were informed of the 2001 incident by Curley. But, I think going after the 2nd mile is barking up the wrong tree. Spanier was railroaded, so I don't think the solution is to railroad others, but to fight for the fact that everyone is innocent (with the possible exception of Andrew Shubin)

It is curious. I did not see this filing discussed here, but how can Penn State claim anything now against the second mile after the way they have acted the past 5+ years? Penn State went out of its way to accept the blame and now wants to assign blame to the second mile?

Imo, Spanier et. al. were railroaded. Raykovitz was mandated, knew, did nothing, he and Heim made sure they did nothing further with the info and continued to help Sandusky..... there's where the charges should be levied, if any.
And yes, Shubin should be disbarred if anyone actually looks under the covers of those shenanigans.

I don't understand how TSM can even still be the target of a suit, but the law is a strange thing sometimes.

It never stops being curiouser and curiouser.

Also, this may be why the Paternos ended their suit against the NCAA?

News to me. What do they hope to recover from this defunct, bankrupt organization with no assets; the same organization Penn State demanded victims not sue in their own settlements? The University will be going up against a political juggernaut. All the influence and might of the Harrisburg/Philadelphia machine will be brought to bear. Good luck.

Yes, and the same Penn State that was quick to jump all over Spanier after his conviction. Referring to the "profound lack of leadership" or something to that effect. What a bunch of f-ups.

Did Raykowitz really do nothing? According to Sandusky, Jack did confront him, but when Sandusky explained that the boy was Allan Myers, a teenagr who everyone knew was like a son to Jerry and who openly and publicly praised Sandusky on numerous occasions, Raykowitz figured it had to be simply a misunderstanding and let it go. Now you could say Sandusky is nothing but a liar, but I have yet to see anyone prove anything Sandusky stated in his Ziegler interviews to be wrong. Raykowitz's advice that Sandusky wear swim trunks to prevent further misunderstandings is much maligned, but there were afterward no complaints about Sandusky showering with boys. The "secret" witness at the Spanier trial, Mike Kajak, is clearly lying when he said he was molested by Sandusky in a shower in 2002.

By nothing, I mean that as a trained and mandated reporter, he knows that he cannot so easily dismiss such reports as a simple misunderstanding.
Confronting Sandusky and giving him the swim trunks advice wasn't doing enough on his part wrt the issue brought to him by Curley, given his training and supposed insight, imo.
And while all this ended further showering complaints and issues on PSU's campus, Raykovitz knew that a predator can find other avenues to groom and abuse.
The doubts about Sandusky by all who knew him were understandable, imo. The common person (including athletic coaches and admins) did not and still may not know much about Pillar of the Community abusers and the signs that beg to be ignored but cannot be. Dr. Jack knew, though.

I'm not debating Sandusky's guilt here, just the fact that the PSU 3 and JVP and PSU in general have been accused and convicted of endangering a child, while the trained child psychologist, who got the same report plus more, is still free and practicing. Who really put that kid in further danger? Not the folks who reported it and asked for help in handling it.

Under TSM by-laws, their directors and officers bear personal responsibility for allowing or knowing of "acts of wrong doing", they are not financially indemnified. This would be the only way Penn State could recoup substantial monies.

However, I'm sure Jack and Bruce have already sheltered their assets, along with others. TSM insurer may or may not be on the hook.

Why Penn State pissed around and waited so long is a mystery, unless it was to allow more cross members from the turdish BoT, their friends and families, to also shelter their assets.

I get what you are saying, but regardless of whether Sandusky is innocent or guilty, we should all be able to agree that the 2001 shower "rape" never happened. The Spanier trial should have put the final nail in the coffin of the whacked-out "Allan Myers is not the real Victim 2" conspiracy theory. It was clear that the PA OAG had a huge vendetta against Spanier, so they would have a huge incentive to produce the "real Victim 2" if they really wanted to convict Spanier (and Curley/Schultz) on the felony charges. Yet after 6 years and having vast resources, they still couldn't locate a "Victim 2" that they liked. Furthermore, the recently released excerpt from Mark Pendergrast's upcoming book that reveals what happened with Allan Myers between Sandusky's arrest and the trial should make it very clear this guy was never abused. Look, the world outside of PSU still thinks JoePa is evil. The New York times poll reveals him to be as unpopular as Jefferson Davis. We need to bring up the big guns here. The Political Correctness of Scott Paterno and Jim Clemente has gotten us nowhere.

Ralph Cipriano has a new blog post on bigtrial: "Franco Harris: Graham Spanier Trial, Jail Sentence A Ridiculous Farce."

It includes a couple of interesting quotes from Franco.

Harris said he would continue the fight to clear Paterno's name.

"We have to get the story out, we want to educate Penn Staters," he said. He expects "this HBO movie" starring Al Pacino to stir things up again.

"There are things that we're gonna have to do to really get our side of the story out," Harris said. "That's going to be very important, to get our side of the story out."

"We will continuing fighting and never stop."

On the podcast, Harris said he was reading an advance copy of Mark Pendergrast's book on the Penn State sex scandal, "The Most Hated Man In America; Jerry Sandusky and The Rush To Judgment," which has been excerpted several times on Big Trial.

"It definitely makes you question some things," Harris said about Pendergrast's book. "It definitely isn't over."

It may be defunct, but that doesn't prevent going after any applicable insurance.
