Break out the popcorn. Second best of all time discussion from Flo.

Solely focusing on NCAA tourney points scored is clearly faulty. Thus, it has David Taylor ranked four spots ahead of 4xer Kyle Dake who has beaten Taylor so many times that people don't even know the number anymore. Askren (2,2,1,1 two Hodges, 91 pins) can't even crack the top ten.
It appears that the only reason that metric was chosen is because the stats are so readily available.

So you're saying Flo is misusing statistical data to make its point? Do you want to sue for infringement?

His justification for that claim is in the comments. Basically Cael redshirted. Lost as a freshman to a non starter from Iowa. Snyder won a world title as a freshman. An interesting debate. Some stuff in the comments on Ryan's instagram but idk how to post them here

Taylor is also better than Dake by virtue of number of Hodges won.

This is why these type of discussions just go around in circles. Everyone has a different opinion on how to define who is the "best" or the "GOAT" or the "best PFP wrestler". Plus, everyone brings their own personal biases and their own personal rooting interests to the table. The result is everyone has an opinion and there is pretty much no consensus. No big deal I just figured it was worth pointing this out before we challenge the Suriano thread for number of posts without anyone changing their mind on the subject.

I agree, but for good measure will keep the conversation going...

I'm a "body of work" guy for this type of adulation. I am also a Kyle Snyder fan, not just his wrestling, but the way he carries himself. Classy to his core! This isn't a knock on his talent at all. IMHO, at the moment he leaves college wrestling, he may be the "most unbeatable ever", at that moment in time. However, that wasn't always the case, and he took some losses along the way. Can't discount those.

I thought that is what message boards were for.

Straight up

It's how you forget the waiting

I assume you mean waiting for the season to start. I agree and the closer it gets the longer it seems to be before it starts. I have started making hotel reservations and ordered season and NCAA tickets so that makes it SEEM closer to starting.

Folkstyle does not equal Freestyle. Similar but not the same. Snyder is not the best ever in our Collegiate style. Pretty simple. He is the best American at his age ever in Freestyle and could go down as the best US Freestyler ever with a few more Golds.

Just something to stoke Cael's competitive fire vis-a-vis Ryan

Ryan was nice enough to respond to me, and I responded back.

John Smith has done more if freestyle than Snyder has done so far and just as much in folk. However, Snyder is still young and I expect and hope that he will surpass Smith in freestyle accomplishments, not to mention I expect he will become a 3x NCAA champ come next March, which would also surpass John Smith.

I have teenagers and waiting. Pretty stoked for you about the tickets.. some day

I must have missed where Snyder won one of these.

Love the picture El Jefe. I was waiting for someone to post it. Thanks for doing so. Zain needs to be recognized in such a large forum (Beaver Stadium) so all Penn State faithful know this "human pretzel" maker to be the best at what he does. Love the PIC!!!

Where does Greg Jones (WVU 3x, Greensburg Salem) fall in the conversation? Never understood why he didn't pursue an international career.

Ryan is sticking up for his guy, and trying to build hype for the season.

He's not the best collegiate wrestler ever. Just a fact.
