Idiots. 359,000 followers subjected to this crap.
Pretty sure that started as some social media intern thinking they were logged onto their own page and not the university's, and now they're just having some fun with it. To think this came from the "narcissists who run this university" is pretty naive
I doubt that theory - If they have that little oversight and control of social media weaponry - then my university is in much worse shape than I ever thought.... So your theory is that Barron, et al are the ones who make PSU Facebook posts? Interesting. They're probably a little too busy running a multi-billion dollar entity to worry about sharing PSU News posts.I doubt that theory - If they have that little oversight and control of social media weaponry - then my university is in much worse shape than I ever thought.... The big shots at PSU don't care about social media. OK.
Is that real??? Good God, they are worked up enough to post about changes to Oreo cookies but they can't be bothered to deal with their alumni, the Freeh report, their reputation, etc. That's how vapid this university and its leadership have become the past few years.
That's a slam dunk.I guess they are milking this Oreo thing for all it's worth.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people on this forum are getting worked up about this, but this is exactly what happened, and this happens pretty frequently to social media accounts of all shapes and sizes. The person who posts to Penn State's page almost certainly thought they were logged into their own accout, and posted not realizing that they were logged into the Penn State account. It's actually a relatively easy mistake to make if you manage multiple accounts.Pretty sure that started as some social media intern thinking they were logged onto their own page and not the university's, and now they're just having some fun with it. Then, rather than the university issuing an apology for something trivial like this, they decided to use some self-depreciating humor and keep the joke going. The university Twitter account actually interacts like this with its followers all the time; it's pretty casual.
So your theory is that Barron, et al are the ones who make PSU Facebook posts? Interesting. They're probably a little too busy ruining a multi-billion dollar entity to worry about sharing PSU News posts.
Barron should be minding the store cuz we know his keepers are a little too busy mining a multi-billion dollar educational institution ( you refer to it as an 'entity'... revealing).... Someone certainly SHOULD be interested in tending to news releases and social media announcements..... A niggling little detail known as "accountability" and public relations that has, shall we say, been poorly managed over the past few years. We can fill you in on the details if you're interestedSo your theory is that Barron, et al are the ones who make PSU Facebook posts? Interesting. Like clockwork, always to the rescue of leadership.Pretty sure that started as some social media intern thinking they were logged onto their own page and not the university's, and now they're just having some fun with it. Funny - that kinda thing doesn't happen in my company... The fact that it happened and not immediately mopped-up, while never an indictment of conspiracy, is indicative of shitty managementLike clockwork, always there to think everything is a grand conspiracy against the alumni by the leadership.

Yeah, how dare I look at this without an eye to the administration purposely pissing off Nabisco....Like clockwork, always to the rescue of leadership.

and then they wonder why people call Penn State fans a cult. Things like this has happened to many businesses large and small. Just like a cult they just can't resist spinning it into evidence of their agenda. It reminds me of the Westboro Baptist that take anything and spin it their agenda.Like clockwork, always there to think everything is a grand conspiracy against the alumni by the leadership.
Sounds like I probably wouldn't want to follow your company on Twitter.Funny - that kinda thing doesn't happen in my company... The fact that it happened and not immediately mopped-up, while never an indictment of conspiracy, is indicative of shitty management

This is a nothing thing. Why anybody would post about such a nothing post is beyond me. It gets to the point when you don't like someone or thing you make a big deal about ever thing they do or say.So your theory is that Barron, et al are the ones who make PSU Facebook posts? Interesting. They're probably a little too busy running a multi-billion dollar entity to worry about sharing PSU News posts.
So what company do you work for that so perfect mistakes don't happen?Funny - that kinda thing doesn't happen in my company... The fact that it happened and not immediately mopped-up, while never an indictment of conspiracy, is indicative of shitty management
It gets to the point where you end up maginalizing yourself because you are complaining about everything. Your right, it's just a way to take a shot at who you dislike. It's a simple mistake by whomever was manning the account at the time.
To be a Facebook page admin, you have to have a Facebook account. Thus when you login, you have the option of posting as yourself or as pages you've been assigned as an admin. It's a relatively easy mistake to make.........and not a big deal.
But of course, this is BWI. It's all a grand conspiracy against the alumni perpetrated by the BOT and move-on crowd.
Even with those policies these things happen because of the way Facebook is set up. Also how do you know the person responsible was not fired? We have policies and procedures in place to prevent things like this from happening. If something like this did happen, someone would probably be fired, and rightfully so.
