BTN postgame

You would think Michigan won this game going away by the amount of airtime being given to sing their praises . It’s unbelievable.
I agree with you to a large extent however they dominated the second half and we held on by a thread (dropped td pass). A win is a win but it was ugly and we were getting beat up in the 4th quarter.

The 1985 and 1986 PSU teams were a combined 23-1. There were several ugly wins in the 23. The key is WINs. W’s are beautiful. Especially against one of the only 2 schools this hog-wallow of a conference cares about. That W last night was a Da Vinci, a Michelangelo, a Renoir!

Mason is a jerk ! Can't stand PSU !

He supposedly respected Joe. Maybe he holds a grudge against Penn State for the way they treated Joe? If so, it’s stupid to project that on TV. He should be professional.

Penn State is the only team in the country that loses in a win....hell, Clemson’s close win against UNC was called a gutsy performance.

You want the talk to be all favorable to PSU and dismissive of Michigan?
Should have put the final nail in the coffin. I'll take the win....but I have some respect for the fact that those Michigan kids didn't fold when they easily could have. I hope they pummel ND.

The only question is, how far do they fall in the rankings, and will Michigan jump them after the close call.

Take the W and move on. But it does seem as though Pitt and UM got more praise in the media than PSU did. Oh well, Wisky was the toast of the town for the first month and a half...I’ll take the W at this point.

As a real old timer, its interesting to see what 24 hour sports coverage has done to perceptions. With so many networks competing for viewers and advertising $, every week has 3 or 4 match ups of the century (see OSU vs Nebraska). Titans are created based on performance in one or two games (see Wisky) and fall within a week or two.
Back in the day.....Joe had to overcome bias against Eastern Football and it took years and years of pretty damn good records and teams to get attention and respect.

Started out sounding like someone died, BTNW was all apologetic for Michigan's loss, they didn't think PS would beat them. It was more about Michigans 21 than Penn State's 28. Penn State is at the point where they are even with Michigan recruiting wise, but not Ohio State yet and that scares the s*** out of them.
Franklin opened his PC with praise for the Michigan program, players, and coach. Harbaugh did neither

Week after week, the same segment of this board wears down its fingertips postgame complaining about its perceived lack of respect for PSU football from the various talking heads.
If they bother you, why do you watch?
Quit smacking your skull with a hammer and your headache might just go away.
The “W” is the only thing that matters.
PSU got the “W.”
Enjoy it.

Thought the same thing listening to BTN. I sat wondering who actually won the game
The nose picker is absolutely classless. I was however impressed he was able to put 4 and 5 word sentences together for a while. That was new for him.

Like others on the board I’m sure, college football is my hobby and I like to keep up with the mindset throughout the sports world. College football is very much about perception, so what people think very much matters. Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring everything doesn’t work for me.

A team that is hanging on for dear life in consecutive games, and has shown no ability to put away good teams, is not a top six team.

This team has lots of places it can improve. Whether it will or not is an open question.

There is no reason any correspondents should make them out to be more than a very good team.

In the words of James Franklin, they “are not elite”.

So you’re bothered by the people who are bothered?

I'll take very good today.

It's a lot better than being 5-2 with literally no chance to win the East.

Very good teams catch the passes they should. Very good teams don't get down by 21. And if they do, they score 22 and win.

I think we have seen that movie before

Many times.

It's a network that is supposed to represent the entire Big Ten. Instead, they pump out Ohio State and Michigan content, even when we beat either of them. That isn't right or fair. If you want to "shut up and take it" that's fine, but don't lecture everyone else who calls out the bullsh#t.

Penn State lost that game in every aspect except the final score. Michigan came into a White Out and punched Penn State right in the mouth.

I've been a Penn State fan since the final years of Rip Engle, and if anyone wants to glorify this win as a building block for an aspirational season, you're dreaming.

Minnesota is licking its chops right now, knowing that they can slug it out with Penn State for 3 quarters and then jump them in the 4th quarter.

Oh bullshit....you’re clueless.

That’s not true, they were greatly criticized and still are. In fact more people were talking about their QBs pics this season than their win yesterday.

But they’re still a lock for the CFP according to everyone...whereas apparently Ohio State is the Big’s only hope for the playoffs.

Nothing about this thread should be surprising. Penn State won and that’s the important thing, but Michigan dominated this game outside of about a quarter and one long pass completion. Everything about the game felt like Penn State won against the run of play. I can’t fault the studio crew for calling that out. Penn State got lucky and probably should have at least been pushed to overtime.
