Is there absolutely nothing going on tonight in the B1G? Checked in to find them broadcasting a basketball game at Rutgers. Purdue leads by 40 plus. Even the Purdue faithful would turn this off. What are they thinking? Show us a Maryland replay for crying out loud.

So a Penn State fan is going to complain about the network showing a basketball game featuring a really bad team from the conference getting blown out and that not many people are likely watching? I'm thankful for the BTN and the fact that I've been able to watch all of our conference hoops games since it's existence, regardless of how bad we were at the time.

That's not how TV contracts work. It doesn't matter how bad a school's team is, when a conference signs a TV contract, they get a guarantee that every one of their teams will have a minimal number of network appearances. Not only will you see Rutgers on the BTN, you'll also get to see them numerous times on ESPN's channels.

And that's a good thing too. If it wasn't for clauses like that, Penn State TV games would be few and far between.

So you think they should show a replay instead of the only live game going on last night? That is just STUPID.

Did you mean Pitiful or Pittiful? Pitiful means:

deserving or arousing pity.

synonyms: distressing, sad, piteous, pitiable, pathetic, heart-rending, heartbreaking, moving, touching, tearjerking, poor, sorry, wretched, abject, miserable

very small or poor; inadequate.

synonyms: paltry, miserable, meager, insufficient, trifling, negligible, pitiable, derisory;

Pittiful, or full of Pitt.... actually means the exact same thing. Sorry for the confusion.

"The Pitiful ACC television network's programing was Pittiful, so nobody watched."

No it's not stupid, it's how TV rights are handled. ALL B10 games are covered live by somebody. If there was a live game going on at the same time and it wasn't on the BTN, then some other network owned the rights to it and was broadcasting the game. Hence the BTN would be prohibited from televising it. The BTN would only be allowed to show a game whose rights they owned. The TV networks pay millions, sometimes even as much as a billion, for exclusive rights to games.

Read the post that NovaLion quoted again.

NovaLion is saying it's stupid to think that the BTN should show a taped game instead of the Rutgers-Purdue game.

Big10 wrestling in 60 at 10:30 is supposed to be Penn state at Northwestern. Big victory for Zain at 149 over a previous champ. That's good right

It was, I believe, the 2nd week of the show. I didn't see the 1st one -- just read comments about it. It does not appear that Big 10 Wrestling in 60 is a repeat of a specific dual. The 2nd episode was the 5 or 6 most interesting matches that took place over the weekend involving B1G wrestlers. PSUers got 2 of the matches -- Zain defeating Tsirtsis (Northwestern) and McCutcheon defeating Dudley (Nebraska) from PSU's duals on Sunday and Friday, respectively.

Thanks. You're right. I misinterpreted his comment.
