Do you think we will see any major changes after the bye week? Could this time be used to get a kid ready to play a big role down the stretch?

I hate to move on from people I like and people who have meant so much to this team and program but I would use the bye week to get some people ready to roll. I would still start Juwon and Polk but I think I would use the bye to get Dotson, Shorter and Hipp ready to carry the load with Hamler. You realize our 4 best wideouts may all be freshman???? Let that sink in a second.

I would use the bye to push a bigger role in the receiving game to 87.

Get 4 ready for more action and work on his ball security. Nice to have that home run threat back there with Trace at times. Would like to see him and Miles together in same backfield.

On defense they played a lot of guys early in the season. Obviously they weren’t comfortable with a lot of them vs Ohio state because there weren’t many substitutions during the game on defense. Maybe a couple of these kids can take another step forward during the bye week and add some needed depth.

I don’t think you see much change during the bye week when it comes to play calling, schemes, however I expect you see this team come out with their hair on fire from this point forward and take care of business the rest of the way. I think we will clean up some of the sloppy play. I just will be interested to see which players take a step forward during the bye week and are important factors moving forward, guys who have played but maybe not been big contributors so far.

We move #9 to safety, #2 to WR, #14 is the QB, and we throw deep on every single play. Even from the opponents 5 yard line.
We will be the early 1990's Loyola Marymount of college football.

After watching so far, it is my guess (only a guess) that we are doing something to tip off other teams of where we run the ball. And, I think this is a coaching problem. You often hear other teams relate how an offensive lineman tips one way or the other and it becomes an indicator of where a play is going, well, I think we are doing a lot of that and our coaches haven't homed in on it yet. Greg Schiano, OSU coach, claimed he knew what our last play would be.
The reason I say this is because I don't believe our linemen are that bad. When in doubt, blame the coaching.

Here's another thought - how does this game play out in say, late October or November as opposed to last week of September?

I know one thing. There aren't many good games this week to watch.
Amen brother. The biggest game might be the Red River Classic (not shoot-out!). Don’t sleep in Florida/LSU though. And maybe Va Tech upsets Notre Dame. Has not been a good year for big upsets thus far, Time for them to start??

As I stated previously, I hope they work on fundamentals such as open field tackling. I believe that there does not need to be much tinkering except working on the screen game on offense and maybe settling on the best 11 on defense to play a majority of the game as a unit (that is more than 50% of the time).

Agree. Mostly IMO its time needed to get some people healthy, maybe get their heads right (looking at you JJ). And like you said getting their best 11 on defense. I would love to see some screens...and not to Tommy Stevens.

Unless we get a bunch of season ending injuries to WR I highly doubt we see Shorter or Dotson this year except maybe in mop up time and they stay within their 4 games. I found it really odd we didn't see 93 last week. Dinged up maybe? No Slade was of interest too, but no as much as not seeing 93.
