Football Can fans be upset with James Franklin if he gets Penn State to 11-1?

As an outsider that doesn't root for either team, it's far more than the NIL stuff. PSU has been right in just about every game with OSU since it's last win in 2016. I still remember those two late 4th quarter collapses around 2018-2019 (or thereabouts) when PSU had double digit leads late and just threw those games away. Just head scratchers. The talent level difference between the two teams is not as much as some like to believe

11-1 is not satisfactory if it doesn’t lead to the playoffs and a competitive run at the national championship. With Franklin, that Wii never happen.

I don’t think that result at the end of 12 games will make up people’s minds, it will be how they do in the CFP.

Now, I’d there is another loss or two in making it to 12 games, that’s another story.

It was not this year's loss to OSU that was bothersome, but how the loss took place. A 15-yard taunting penalty in the first quarter showed me that this program is still at the "look at me" stage of development, as opposed to being serious about winning at the top level of the sport.

This team has continually gone about exactly as far as its talent will take it, which is about top 10-15 in the country. A championship team needs to become more than the sum of its parts. I see no sign that CJF understands how to make that happen, maybe because he doesn't want to offend certain rodeo clowns on the team.

I'll say this for OSU. They weren't the ones who had a player kicked out of the Oregon game for spitting and they weren't the ones who had two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the first half of the PSU game. If you watch that team play, and I watch them as much as I can, I respect how disciplined their players are and, for the most past, how they play the game without the histrionics that have become all too common these days, especially with receivers and d-backs.

As opposed to clown posters you mean?
