This board has become a depressing collection of unrealistic, emotional, whining babies. Hard to sign in and check on updated news from Ryan, Nate, Adam and Bill without coming across 3-5 negative posts of someone freaking out about soemthing stupid.
It seems like we could all benefit collectively from a more positive board or even splitting off or creating a sub forum like Reddit does for bitching and whining. Posts could be moved to the sub forum by the moderators and we don't have to walk through land mines of complaints, negative posts and therapy for people who are just angry and need a place to vent in general and use penn state football as their sounding off point. It's been a terrible environment for a while mixed in with A++ reporting and analysis from the BWI team.
The harsh reality is that we are rebuilding a program brick by brick seems to be lost on a lot of people. Whatever you want Penn State to be or think it should be, it's not. We're not elite. Maybe one day we'll get there but micro analyzing every single movement, commitment flip, coaching change etc will not change the fact that it's going to take time, patience and consistency.
The fact that social media/Twitter and forums like this give us almost unlimited access to information and a voice to armchair GMs and fans to whine and vent so much is more of a curse at this point as it is a blessing.
Watching Penn State football on Saturdays is a luxury but it's not the only things that matters. We haven't been on top for 30yrs and it's still been a wonderful ride that All of us should be incredibly proud of. It's amazingly admirable that we are continuing the traditions of building and bringing in the type of kids that are Penn State men and JoePa would have recruited too.
What's the point of second guessing the head coach at every turn and questioning him for losing coaches who want what's best for their families while reorganizing his management team to fit what he believes is the right direction for the program. What's the point of getting so worked up every single time something goes against us, like we've been slighted or mistreated or are falling apart.
Obviously everyone wants to win and be the best but why tear ourselves apart from the inside while trying to get to a place we haven't been in a very long time while recovering from dramatic and unprecedented sanctions. It's generally depressing how many negative nancies and angry posters litter this board every day, getting people upset with negative spins, wild speculation and complaints without the least bit of understanding of the reality.
