I'll be completely honest here. From the beginning of the game until its last agonizing moments, I frequently shouted insults and obscenities at my television and at particular players and coaches. Frequently. And when the game ended, I was angry--furious. I watched a lot more college football, saw some big name teams get upset, and got an eyeful of a few dominant programs. And then I got up this morning, and reflected on yesterday's game.
It was a team loss--there is no better way to put it. If you want to blame many specific players or coaches, you could do so with some justification. A LOT of team members contributed to the 23-21 loss. However, deciding to pick one or two players or coaches is unrealistic. Yesterday, they weren't good enough to win. However-- forgive the Pollyanna moment--they were good enough to almost win. And we all hope that in two weeks, in front of a Whiteout and Senior Day crowd, they will all be more effective.
Everybody needs to do as they wish, but I cannot and will not share my obscenities or insults with this public board. They are between me and my television. And they will stay there.
