Cannon and DeAugastino to Michigan

They are hoping to improve and win a championship. Cannon avoided Iowa as much as he avoided Rutgers.
Good for them. I wish more athletes would parlay a D1 scholarship into multiple degrees. Also, quite the combo for all three of them. Well done.
Slavikouski was rumored to be going to Michigan, right up until Davison hit the portal.
There was talk of Cannon at 141 if he went to Rutgers, so I would guess him.
Cannon told me he is never wrestling 33 again.
People on Twitter already trying to make themselves believe this news means someone (i.e. Michigan) can finally beat Penn State.
That lineup might win two matches against PSU and doesn’t have a single guy above 3rd place.
Griffith makes a lot of sense for them. That would be their fourth transfer after the 3 taken off Northwestern. Anyone know what happened to the Jake Woodley to Michigan rumors that were the very first ones we heard regarding the Wolverines? He would actually fit them perfectly at 197, as he would Iowa too, and I believe he does have 1 more year of eligibility left. He does have wins over Rocky Elam, Yonger Bastida, Michael Beard, Stephen Buchanan, and Noah Adams in his career.
Looks like Cole Mattin (141) is OUT for next year.

And, Chance Lamer (149) has entered the Portal. Medley (125) has no eligibility remaining.
So, Michigan was in need of 2 (at least) lightweights. DeAugustino went 1-2 at NCAA's and did not place. Cannon did the same. Both are certainly very good wrestlers, but can they AA next year?
Griffith also going to Michigan. Amine at 165, and Michigan had no rep at NCAA's at 174 (Max Maylor), and Finesilver is out at 184. So, Griffith likely fills a hole. Griffith was a former NCAA Champ, but this last tourney went 4-2 and placed 6th. Likewise at 285. Davison comes in to replace Parris. Davison was beat by Parris 10-1, went 4-2, and placed 6th.
So, 4 pick-ups for Michigan. Two DNP & two 6th's. 3 pick-ups for PSU. Nagao (5th), Mesenbrink (U20 Champ), and Truax (3x 4th place). And, looking at the posts by Robbie Howard he seems anxious to be a part of a championship team next year.
Michigan vs Bucknuts will be a very interesting affair in 24’. Young Bucks vs Retreads. It will be a measuring stick for Tan Tom’s coaching chops.

DeAugustino previously beat Howard (3/6/21), 4-2. But, I saw Howard wrestle a Freestyle tournament just before he went back on the injury list. Aggressive and fearless. Looking forward to what Robbie can do. And, who knows what's up at 157/165 for PSU. Obviously, Amine/Facundo is a toss-up (Facundo won TB-2, 6-5 in January). But, how will these 2 weights shake out with Haines/Mesenbrink/Facundo?
I think Iowa still wins a dual against UM.
At NCAAs, Mich and Iowa will battle a few other teams for 3rd behind PSU and Cornell.

I guess the deciding factor will be whether Griffith can defeat Brands' stall and slow down tactic that he uses to lose 5-2 instead of by bonus.
What is the over under of total takedowns in the dual? I’ll go with 4.5
If the two teams send those lineups out then I assume Howard is healthy and a healthy Howard wins that match.
Right now I am expecting Facundo to take an ORS and Mesenbrink to wrestle 165. There is more than a tiny chance PSU pitches a shutout against Michigan.
What makes you assume a healthy Howard would win this match like it’s a given? Seems like a tossup at best until proven otherwise.
If Mesenbrink can beat Amine and is a title contender then I think PSU got a realistic shot to break 97’ hawks scoring record.
A healthy Howard and the 2 years since we have seen him I expect to see leaps and bounds improvement. I could be wrong, but until I see evidence to the contrary my expectations for a healthy Howard are high.
I wonder how much wrestling/training vs rehab he's been able to do.
I'm going to attach zero expectations for Howard this year. Just a lot of hope.
Yeah, obviously, I hope Howard is back to 100%, but if not, I’m excited to see what a kid like Nasdeo can do. He only has a limited window until Lilledahl arrives, and I’d love to see what he can do.
Since we are talking 2 rehab periods, assuming extensive rehab (4 months each) that's 8 months out what will be 32 months since last seen in a PSU singlet. 24 months of drilling, play wrestling, live go's and whatever else.
In my mind the health and limb viability are legitimate concerns and everytime his upper joints get stressed the PSU fans will collectively gasp and breath hold. If healthy though, the development of his skill sets should excit us all.
