He sent out an email update about the team and forgot to put people’s address in the bcc line. He sent out an email after saying he was sorry, but also said he tends to do it a few times a year! Oh well, we are all friends, right?

I actually find it a but comical that he has to do this himself. You would think there was staff for this. At the same time it is pretty cool that he takes the time to do it.

In case you weren’t one of those numerous email addresses, here is what he sent.

Penn State Wrestling Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This past weekend we officially kicked off the 2017-18 season at home against two scrappy teams. Our guys competed hard and were able to win 17 of the 20 matches that were wrestled against Army and Bucknell. More importantly then just winning though was that bonus points were scored in 13 of the 17 matches won including 7 pins. It was a good start and allowed us to see where our guys are at and where we need to improve. These guys will continue to improve as the season moves along just like they do every year.

On Sunday we also had a group of guys compete in the Binghamton open with one champion and five other guys placing in their respective weights. We will continue to have guys competing in open tournaments over the next few months to gain valuable experience.

This coming weekend we have another great test for our team. On Friday night we head to Binghamton to take on former Penn State Assistant Coach Matt Dernlan’s team. Binghamton is a very solid team and will be ready to battle Friday night. It would be awesome if we could sell out Binghamton’s arena Friday night but we need your help to do that. I believe their venue will seat about 4500 the way it will be set up so lets make that happen. Lastly, on Sunday we head to the University of Pennsylvania to wrestle in the Keystone Classic. It was a lot of fun last year and will be another fun packed day with 20 of our guys competing so we look forward to seeing a lot of our fans there again also.

Thanks again for continuing to be the greatest fans in college wrestling and selling out our arena for two more duals last week. It is amazing the support our guys get from you the fans. We look forward to seeing everybody again soon.

GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So who's gonna be the first to Reply All?

(not it!)

I think you should post all of the addresses here for our favorite citizen compliance officer to carefully vet and review.

Sorry, saw this and thought it a little humorous.

I have been restraining myself all day. Reply-allpocalypse is my favorite technical disaster!
I HATE THOSE PEOPLE!!! I work for a manufacturing company, occasionally, normally around the holidays, corporate will send out an email to the entire directory, then we keep getting responses from some manufacturing guy I never heard of saying happy holidays! Then others complaining, then more well wishes, it doesn't stop!

Come on, they can't get some communications student working for next to nothing, ok, I guess not....
Roar, is your email on the list?
I also thought it interesting, that on the apology email, Casey included his regular signature line with some possibly privileged contact info. I am an info hoarder, so that is going into my address book.

Yes, I made the list ;).

I will admit, I scanned for a roar'ish tag line, didn't see one in my cursory scan.

You are pretty darn nice here as Roar, I may not be able to stand you if you were nicer. Just kidding. Probably most of us are nicer in person...

I would love to have a beer or coffee with you some time. The closest I got was meeting your daughter for a ticket pick up a year or so ago. And she was pretty darn nice.... even though I interrupted her sprints up and down the street. :)

Anytime, almost...won’t be at Gate C either.

Did a slightly more intense scan, didn’t notice any spyker’s. Did see some very interesting email addresses. People can certainly be creative sometimes.

Gmail seems to be the clear leader in providers. Lots of psu.edu addresses too, unsurprisingly.

It's interesting that Casey sensitively apologized for not putting addresses BCC. By apologizing for doing so, it's inadvertently gotten much more scrutiny. When we try to do that right thing. . .

Then I draw more attention to it by posting here. Mea culpa mea culpa. I truly meant to show how nice he was.

1. Phase 1 - well meaning replies to the thread
2. Phase 2 - reply-all requests to be removed from the email thread
3. Phase 3 - well-meaning replies that replying all to ask to be removed is just extending the thread
4. Phase 4 - irritated replies that replying to all to tell people not to reply to all ALSO extends the thread
5. Phase 5 (email server issues start here) - Angry replies to the phase 4
6. Phase 6 - TROLLS COME IN AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE

I was on a great one that covered all of HHS once. It was magical.

Awesome summation of the cycle!

Roar is nice enough here but even nicer in person.

Agree though that most message board posters are probably nicer in person. Just as many drivers behave toward other drivers in ways they'd be embarrassed about in real life, message boards provide the anonymity necessary to be awful without consequences.

I honestly am not sure, Penn State Wrestling club member? That is the only guess I have, I am not a season ticket holder. Maybe Roar can confirm.

I can confirm that the PSWC does provide an email list once a year.

Everyone should join PSWC, even people that like vodka. The fee is very reasonable and they do great things for the team. The annual yearbook is easily worth the membership fee, plus they run bus trips and secure hotels for end of year tourneys.

I went to the end of tourney social at NYC NCAA’s and it was fantastic. I still remember speaking briefly with Bo, you could tell it was the last place he wanted to be after his placement not meeting his personal goals but he still graciously spoke to everyone who greeted him. My son held the Megaludis family camcorder to record him being honored with his family. Great time!

I agree and would add that what has happened to me and probably others is I have an idea in my head, put it down in writing, send it off and people read it negatively even though I didn't mean it that way. I'm careful now even of replying to a specific message like this, because it can come across wrong.

Many times an inadvertent reference to someone can seem negative because I am focused on something else. Hard sometimes for us non-writers to express and get across exactly what we mean, especially if we are on the go.

At least Casey didn't say, "Please see attached," and forget the attachment. I'm good for that at least twice a month.
