CBS Sports Mock moves Gesicki into #27 of the first round

Seeing Gesicki late 1st- early 2nd round. The Browns would never hear the end of it if they don't take Saquon 1st Overall.
Also, there is no way Allen goes in the 2nd round, teams apparently had him doing LB drill at the combine. I see him going 3rd-4th round.
Hmm....barkley at #1, Darnold at #4, Gesicki in the first pick of the second round. Take the best LB at 35 and Apke at #60.
Personally I would really like to see Barkley and Mayfield play together. Seems like they've been spending a lot of time together the past few months, could be fun to watch.
Gesicki will go first round. Elite pass catching tight ends are probably as much in high demand as about any position in football right now. Gesicki fits that perfectly. I would not be surprised to see him go mid 1st round. Nobody will talk about him as all the teams in that mid round area are going to say they don't want him in order to try to play that psychology game. I would not be surprised to see a team trade up to get him.
I don't see Allen going in round two like some people are saying. He is an elite run stopper safety, but the modern game is about combo safeties that can play pass coverage and although Allen got better, he is still not good there.

If Allen somehow managed to bust off a 4.5 (or even a 4.55) forty at PSU's Pro Day, I would agree fully with you, Nate. I just have some doubt that he can do it. I hope so. If he turns in a higher forty time (or does not run the forty), it is gonna reinforce, at least for some teams, concerns about his pass coverage skills.
Mike Gesicki went from inconsistent, forehead smacking, get this guy off the field forever player to superstar. I am hard pressed to find another at PSU who did that.

Most of the teams that draft late in the first either don't need a TE or have other needs. Maybe someone else trades up. Maybe Buffalo takes him with one of their two picks. Maybe NE gambles with Gronk being an unknown.

Yep. Distinctly remember the OSU game in 2015 and screaming at the TV after he dropped a wide open pass that would have been a big gain, "HE CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY ANYMORE!!!" Good thing CJF couldn't hear me.
