I start a thread expressing displeasure with Gilman's antics and it's taken down. I've seen far more incendiary and abusive posts linger for days. Not sure I understand, but would like to. Whatever rule I offended I don't want to offend again.

Would like to have seen what you wrote. What did Gilman say to Rodriguez with 50 seconds left in match?

Gilman has shown every week that he lacks class. This isn't surprising, though. He's not the first kid at Iowa under Tom to act like this and he won't be he last. He was far better than Rodriguez tonight and there was no need to say a word. HR constantly defends him, and if it happened once I would give the kid the benefit, but it happens every week. He opens his big mouth on a weekly basis.

No, no. He "danced" with him. "I dance, I'm a dancer, I danced with him..."
Reminds me of Bill Murray in "What About Bob?"
"I sailed today, I sail, I'm a sailor, look at me, I'm sailing...":)

Hey look...another Gilman thread.
Let's say you are conducting interviews for a decent paying profession and a person interviews like that? Let's say you take a look at the individuals social media activity, as well as their media interviews, prior to even calling them in to the interview in the first place?
Could this be the recipe for living out of van?

So you are saying that Gilman's job as a school counselor is in jeopardy?

I made a rather benign comment over there and some jackoff started ripping into me calling me a pu$$y and they banned me. Talk about a bunch of pu$$ie$ over there.

The behavior is childish and odd to say the least. Brands must like it, or has lost control of him. I can't believe they allow this act to continue. I love watching him wrestle, but am growing to really dislike the man. Spencer will be there soon enough, and side show bob will move on.

Gilman seems like the type that thinks that type of behavior is "cool". Kinda like the school idiot that walks around head butting lockers and soda machines to get a reaction and a few laughs. There's something odd about him for sure. I've long stop believing it's just an act.

So, is this your first offense? I'll ask you that, and then would like for AZChief to chime in.

Gilman is a punk period. He earned that last year when he slammed Walters. That flagrant conduct would have got him suspended even in the NFL. And yes Chief this type of behavior can in fact impact other parts of his life. Intensity is one thing but it continues after the competition.

Was this the post that got you banned:

I would get chastised on BWI board but Gulibon is biggest disappointment since Altons. At least Altons had multiple injuries to overcome not to mention no stamina. Gulibon could cost PSU championship based on his performance by providing little, if any, points at NCAAs. He is a major liability.

He only seems to act like this towards guys he can/should dominate. He did no such thing with Nico that I can recall.

That is a very thin skinned group over there. Take it as a blessing to longer lie down with swine.
You'd think fans of this sport wouldn't be so sensitive but they are...and Iowa fans are collectively the worst. I'd argue they ban people not on rules violations but instead by how many complaints they receive when you post opinions they don't particularly care to hear or agree with.

Id argue that Iowa fans are collectively the best. They ban people such as yourself for continuously trying to poke the Bear. You lip off to see how much it takes to get banned. Then when it happens you run home and cry about how they showed you the door.

Go to about the 1:10 mark in this video for Gillman's explanation - he says that there was a locker room incident prior to the match between the two of them, that he didn't say anything about it then but did so after the completion of the match.

As far as comments about the Iowa posters- As sports forums go I feel like it's a good site with mostly good posters and conversations- they are passionate about their team as they should be just like PSU fans. In fact, I think the PSU fans and Iowa fans have a lot in common.

If you read the thread on this subject on Hawkeyereport there are numerous posters who don't like what they see Gillman doing either- but he's one of their guys so of course they are going want to give him the benefit of the doubt as much as they can (though I'm sure it can be difficult- his antics do wear on you and as a result he no longer gets the benefit of the doubt from other team's fans when things like this happen) - we would do the same for our guy if the tables were turned.

When you say "rather benign", do you mean benign in the way most of society defines it, or do you mean benign for you? ;)

I've been over on HR for a couple years, and while I post infrequently, I've gotten more pushback here than there.

Dunk and Chickenman have been over there longer, and posted much more, and they don't flatter the HR crowd. They haven't been banned.

Then again, none of us start PSU threads on the Iowa board, or take gratuitous shots at the Hawks, or slam Hawk fans as a group, or leave our sense of humor at the door.

Pick and choose your spots, and how you go about it.

It was something to the effect that the Big's top team didn't make a very good showing at Okie St. after Hawks got beat. Wasn't really that offensive. They do seem to be an overly sensitive bunch over there. Internet tough guy was threatening me. If he saw me, probably wouldn't be talking too much.

HR banned me even though he was berating me....it's like the Pitt site, ban you just because to present a diplomatic counterpoint to their discussion.

I had some fun, innocent chain pulling with some of the guys there but then this particular DB started on me because he was pissed they lost. Then they lost again the following week.

I been checking HR for years, never posted, because they have some of most knowledgeable fans in the sport, and they're always talking about wrestling even in the off-season.
The information regarding freestyle and international wrestling is one of the best out there. They have bonehead and die-hard posters same as any message board, including this one. I've met a few Iowa wrestling fans over the years and they were over-the-top nice people and loved to talk wrestling. I believe because they, like many here, can't get enough of the sport.

Funny thing, I have an 80 something year old aunt (PA born and raised), that married an Iowan and lived most of her life in Iowa and has raised a family there, but they're Cyclone fans.

None of the above go over to pick fights and I don't recall any butt smooching by any of them as well. Chickenman and El Jefe humorous or fact stuff, Dunk thoughtful. Slushhead, Goldbanger, Roar, Cali and a few others as well. A few Iowa fans are going to say "Get off my lawn" no matter what you post...for merely being an opposing fan. That's life. But I (and other Iowa fans) do not come over here and post Iowa results, start threads (unless it is about PSU) or generally cause trouble. Now...would I be able to say the same if Iowa miraculously won the title this year and took over being dominant again? I don't know. I have a feeling, no matter what, that there would be a high level of retribution over here...not on my part I can assure you.

When it gets to the point that you can't have a thread without somebody talking junk, you'll understand. That said, nobody used to get banned from HR prior to last year, tournament-Ramos incident time. We had so many trolls (worst I have seen it) so I think someone got a list going of anybody who was jumping in and cleared them all out. Johnstown got caught up in that unfortunately but has since started wearing it proudly so good for him. Not my style but then I don't know what Tom's tolerance of those who only post "Haha you suck, we're great" would be. Imagine 30-40 pissed off, drunk on winning Jammenz. So yea...it will suck for board regulars who just want to discuss wrestling and debate inside those confines because it's usually not them who started all the junk when they were winning. For now, a few on the Iowa board have to stick with chomo references as defense because we can't beat you at this point, plain and simple.

As I was typing the above post, was just thinking Bluebird is the epitome of diplomacy. Sorry I left you out of the the PSU fan mentions, BB ;)

Poke the bear? You have an odd way of describing what I did over there. Is that what you do here when you give your opinion? Poke the bear? Cuz I've done nothing you yourself haven't done here. That's just fact.

You sound like Guns! Lol Didnt you get banned twice on HR?
Poke the bear.. Walk on thin ice, play with fire, walk the tightrope, lick a frozen flag pole, drive the railroad tracks, kiss Charlie Sheen..
Sure i was chippy when i first posted here probably trying to defend my Hawkeyes but Tom straightened me out pretty quick and i learned my place. I havent been banned from any wrestling board just yet. Thats probably because i know to ease off the gas pedal when trouble is ahead..

Chief, you got pissed off because I agreed with one of the Hawkeye fans when he said "at least we aren't peaking early" after many of you thought the team underperformed early in the season. This is what I mean by you guys being sensitive. You immediately felt I was "poking the bear" after a lackluster performance when in fact I was defending the team, the fan that said it and the coaching staff who in years past was accused of not having their team peak at just the right time like Cael seems to do.

While I'm here, I'll lay out a few things I said over there that drew my biggest criticism. What you called poking the bear, while I called it just giving my honest opinion. I thought PD2 would beat Brooks this year if the two meet. Still do. To you guys, I was poking the bear. I also felt strongly Suriano would lose two close matches to Gilman and come tournament time the two would be a tossup match. To you guys I was poking the bear while it was and still is my honest opinion. I said I felt Iowa would not win more than one championship in the first two weight classes this year. You guys said I was poking the bear. I also felt Sorenson would finish 3-4 this year. Still do. Lastly, I argued that Iowa was not the second best team in the nation. It's my opinion, still is and you guys get all sensitive and consider it poking the bear. Ya see, these were all topics started by one of your own fans yet I give an opinion and I'm just poking the bear because I said something you didn't want to hear. You guys are so sensitive, you verbally rape Willie over there because Flo no longer has Lee #1 on their big board. Christ, is that really that big of a deal anyway??

Btw, I wear nothing proudly outside of what my children do in their lives and what they accomplish. I still read the board over there, just can't post. That works out just fine. You spend an awefull lot of your time on HR, this board and...well...I see you post just about everywhere. These boards mean more to you than they do me. You're crazy if you feel i think enough about them to come here to beat my chest because I was banned over at HR. That's just silly...
