We'll see how wrong I am but

12 Alabama/SMU at 5 Texas (Arizona St)
11 Clemson at 6 Penn State (3 Boise State)
10 Indiana at 7 Notre Dame (2 Georgia)
9 Tennessee at 8 Ohio State (1 Oregon)

Penn State and Notre Dame are interchangeable but we should be 6
3/4/11 can probably all shuffle too
The rest are locks
I'd say Bama is 12 but....

If they move us to 7 then the arguemwnt we should be 8 behind osu because legitimate

tOSU won't be 7 because that would set up a rematch with Indiana. I mean, they wouldn't be above us anyway, but they really won't with that factor.

I agree with all of this except I think SMU will get in with the close loss. Though I wouldn't exactly be shocked if Bama gets in instead.

PSU drops to 8… behind ND, Tex, and O$U. Takes on Tennessee at noon on 12/21. Book it! Bama gets in on pedigree but must travel to Austin. ND gets Clemson and O$U gets Indiana. Winner out of PSU/Tenn goes to the rose bowl vs. Oregon.

Maybe. I'm actually thinking we might get the Friday night game now.

They could do ND 5, Texas 6 and Penn State 7...they can say Ohio State wasn't in the grouping. That allow Bama to be at ND with Clemson at Texas and Indiana at Penn State while keeping the Big Ten/SEC matchup and avoiding rematches since some think that's important.
Doing this is punishing all teams that lost yesterday not just SMU

There is NO legitimate argument to rank Penn State behind OSU—NONE. Both lost to Oregon in close games but OSU lost to a mediocre Michigan for the FOURTH consecutive time at home when they were a 19.5 point favorite.

Most projections have ND at 5...which I disagree with...a couple have us at 9 which is hopefully just idiotic.
Bama is the last team in playing ND or Texas in most. We seem to be 6 vs Clemson or 7 vs Indiana in most. Some have us 6 vs Boise but I don't see them falling out of a bye

They could move Indiana to 11 in theory if Clemson goes to 4 and SMU stays ahead of them. Unlikely but it can work if they want it to

Pretty much anything can happen. We know 1 and 2 are set...after that it's all opinion.

Notre Dame needs to join a conference, and the conference championship games either need to be eliminated or included as part of the playoffs.

It's trash that teams can lose in a conference championship game and tumble down the rankings behind teams that sat with their thumbs up their a**** watching.

Heather Dinich with ESPN projections are usually spot on because I think she has inside information with the committee. She has Penn State the 5 seed and playing Clemson. Other first round matchups are SMU at Texas, Indiana at ND and Tennessee at Ohio State. Byes are #1 Oregon, #2 Georgia, #3 Boise State and #4 ASU.

Us being ahead of Texas and SMU being ahead of Clemson are interesting

These are some great regional matchups. Would like to see it play out this way. Just can’t see the committee putting PSU ahead of Texas - the national narrative on PSU seems to be too negative.

Ohio St has wins over 2 of the CFP field. Penn St has zero. Is that an illegitimate argument?
