Yes, society sets social norms and mores, which influence what is deemed suspension-worthy. And some will think those social norms and mores will be out of touch with their own personal values. Just like some may consider a suspension for punching a significant other the result of a "snowflake society," because, you know, violence is normal and you need to put a woman in her place every now and then, others may consider suspending a coach for flipping out on a player and shoving him to be the result of a "snowflake society," because dudes just have to get tough, and we push each other around all the time, and he probably deserved worse, like we used to get when we were kids. We all have to try to reconcile our own personal moral structure with that of society on a case-by-case basis.
