Sammy is 35 and a school teacher in the Schuylkill Haven school district and coaches wrestling at Pottsville. He officiated at the US Olympic qualifier tournament in Fort Worth, TX. Sammy officiated Jason's match with Dake, JB vs Dake final, and JO vs McKenna final. He will be officiating at the Last Chance Qualifier in Bulgaria and is hoping to be called on to officiate at the Olympics in Tokyo, later this summer. I thought it was great to have a local guy that might be officiating in the Olympics. Best of luck Sammy!

As a Pottsville High graduate that's some nice news and I hope he is chosen. Don't get back much as it's hard to leave Destin, FL for Pottsville.................

Looks like Sammy got the call to officiate in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo yesterday. He is one of only 2 USA freestyle officials to get called. Congrats Sammy! SJ kicks ass at officiating, and I don't say that about many very often.

Or maybe it’s more that everyone there knows the risk and I’m sure it is worth it to them so why ruin it and take away this once in a lifetime opportunity?

Sorry to hear that CowboyUo. Hold your head up as most that are vaccinated have mild symptoms. Prayers for him anyway just in case.

Glad to hear the oxygen levels are back up a bit. The prayers will keep coming.
And I'm still trying to figure out what to do with those signed Jason Smith shoes!
 
a long couple of days, with O2 readings bouncing back and forth dropping into low 80s. Today came up to 98, but with the bloodThinners to keep the clots down still keeping close watch, but out of ICU. emotions raw. I don't know what to do, or to tell people. Fully vaccinated is this bad. I spent the whole weekend before he hit the hospital in a car with him. 3 negative tests so far. Protect yourself the best you can. Because there seems to be no "standards" that stand up with this virus

And, I thought I saw Sammy too-hope so, would hate for him to have gone all that way for nothing. Good job USA all around

this morning MRI shows lungs free of clots, and O2 has stayed steady for 3 days. Going to get to go home today!

Personal perspective, and not wanting argument. Don't politicize this. This was a fully vaccinated, healthy 21 year old. Doctor said he probably would have died if unvaccinated. I am glad we discussed, and got the shots.

5 negative tests for me. Luckily youngest was at Purler's for most of this. The trip up there to drop him off was probably when he caught it, as the timing fits. He was negative when he got back.

Thanks for the prayers, good thoughts, and letting me vent without jumping on me. At least they had wifi at hospital and I got to watch more wrestling than i probably would have at home. Great tournament. I was pleasantly surprised by Gillman, and just a touch disappointed for Helen, and Jacarra Winchester.

Real glad your son is out of the woods, thanks for sharing. And glad you at least had the pleasant distraction of our Olympic wrestling team racking up all those medals.
