I'm shocked I tell you....I'm shocked. In other breaking news, Ilsa was hot....#BREAKING: Philadelphia Eagles have released head coach Chip Kelly
Me too. Must be more to it than meets the eye, i.e., he really did lose the team.Good move but I am VERY surprised.
He did bad, but his players didn't help him, Even before he lost them.
The new coach is still going to have bad players like Bradford, Murray, Cooper, and a Bad D.
You may have it backwards, if we don't improve next year.released = politically correct term for fired
Let the James Franklin to Philly rumors start
That's a good guess.Sean McDermott will be the Eagles next HC IMO.. Served many years as DC and Secondary coach, been with Carolina as D-Coordinator since 2011.
Except the last time he was in philly Andy had to fire him, though AR did him a favor and had RR hire himSean McDermott will be the Eagles next HC IMO.. Served many years as DC and Secondary coach, been with Carolina as D-Coordinator since 2011.
It won't be Franklin. Everyone knows that Phillie will hire the most impressive college coach in the universe. Since Chip was an offensive minded coach they will be looking for a defensive minded coach. Straight off his 1st national championship and his total shutdown defense in the military bowl, I give you Pat Narduzzi. Poor Pitt fans now have something else to worry about.
That's a good guess.[/QUO
Can't see that one, WSL. I have to believe that NFL head coaching experience will be pre-req #1. Maybe they can grab the New Orleans guy.
This was a shocker but my current theory is that Kelly forced Lurie's hand. That press conference yesterday was an abomination and Lurie had to make the move.
I'm still looking at 3 years, minimum, to rebuild. And that's assuming he gets the next hire right.
Wonder if the Titans will go after Chip Kelly?
#BREAKING: Philadelphia Eagles have released head coach Chip Kelly
Someone who doesn't mind having Howie looking over his shoulder on minute and later whispering into Lurie's ear.I'm sure Lorie will hire an experienced NFL guy. NO chance he brings in another "college" coach. The new coach has to win back the players, another college guy would NOT be able to do that. I'm hoping for a "veteran" Head Coach or at least a long time assistant from a winning NFL program.
