Chip Kelly

#BREAKING: Philadelphia Eagles have released head coach Chip Kelly
I'm shocked I tell you....I'm shocked. In other breaking news, Ilsa was hot....

He did bad, but his players didn't help him, Even before he lost them.

The new coach is still going to have bad players like Bradford, Murray, Cooper, and a Bad D.

Sean McDermott will be the Eagles next HC IMO.. Served many years as DC and Secondary coach, been with Carolina as D-Coordinator since 2011.

It won't be Franklin. Everyone knows that Phillie will hire the most impressive college coach in the universe. Since Chip was an offensive minded coach they will be looking for a defensive minded coach. Straight off his 1st national championship and his total shutdown defense in the military bowl, I give you Pat Narduzzi. Poor Pitt fans now have something else to worry about.

Except the last time he was in philly Andy had to fire him, though AR did him a favor and had RR hire him

Correction: I believe that loss yesterday capped Narduzzi's third national championship at Pitt. He's been there a full year.

That's a good guess.[/QUO

Can't see that one, WSL. I have to believe that NFL head coaching experience will be pre-req #1. Maybe they can grab the New Orleans guy.

This was a shocker but my current theory is that Kelly forced Lurie's hand. That press conference yesterday was an abomination and Lurie had to make the move.

I'm still looking at 3 years, minimum, to rebuild. And that's assuming he gets the next hire right.

I suspect the Saints are trolling for compensation for Sean Payton. Besides, that could also turn into a bidding war with Miami and Dallas.

I'm thinking that Lurie goes back to what worked with Andy Reid - a low-profile hire from a good coaching tree.

Or, they stick it to Michigan and hire Harbaugh. ;-)

So where does Chip Kelly go ? USC already made a commitment to their interim head coach. The U ? I would think Texas may be interested but the Charlie Strong experiment is in its infancy. Could he stay in the NFL ? I would think that would be nuts given his current failures being so fresh. But could he lobby for the Tennessee job saying that he and his golden child Mariotta could bring home a championship ? That would be laughable. It has been proven that his system does not work in the NFL. He touted the number of offensive plays Philly ran, but that also accounted for the amount of time the defense had to spend on the field. Interesting stat....the Philly overall defense under Kelly ranked 28th, 29th, and 30th during his three year reign.

Chip could just lay low for a year - since he was released, I guess he still gets his salary. Enjoy a year away from the game (if his ego allows it), and then come back refreshed, when a lot of NFL and high profile college jobs open up.

That high school Harry blew up a pretty good team in a few short years. Whoever takes over needs to immediately release all the Oregon bums Chip brought in.

Hearing that Howie is back in power does not fill me with confidence

Wonder if the Titans will go after Chip Kelly?

It will be interesting to see where he lands. I could see Tenn. or Miami or maybe even Dallas.
I wouldn't be surprised if he sits next year, maybe and ESPN gig, then goes back to a high profile, high
dollar college job. Texas is the first that comes to mind.

I'm sure Lorie will hire an experienced NFL guy. NO chance he brings in another "college" coach. The new coach has to win back the players, another college guy would NOT be able to do that. I'm hoping for a "veteran" Head Coach or at least a long time assistant from a winning NFL program.

Someone who doesn't mind having Howie looking over his shoulder on minute and later whispering into Lurie's ear.
