Tearing apart the right side of Trinidad's defense.

I will be thrilled when there are more Pulisics and less donkeys like Beckerman on the USMNT

Didn't watch tonight, how is Wood doing with Altidore? Are they both up top or just Jozy?

Jozy had two of the four goals. He almost had a hat trick. T and T ended up mugging the guy.

It makes me laugh when people say
"people have been talking about soccer getting big since I was a kid and it never has"
blah blah blah.

USA is absolutely loaded with YOUNG talent right now compared any other time in the past.
Pulisic, Bobby Wood, Julian Green, Carter-Vickers, Gooch, John Brooks, Brooks Lennon, Gideon Zelalem, Miazga, Emerson Hyndman, Deandre Yedlin, Josephy Gyau and even then I am leaving out really young dudes like Ben Lederman (Barcelona), Konrad de La fluente (barcalona), Westen McKinnie, Luca De la Torre, Eric Palmer Brown, Marc Pelosi, Kyle Gruno, Mukwelle Akale, Marlon Fossey.

All of the above players either play for major European teams or are in their youth Academy. I am not talking about 2nd or 3rd devision teams. The players listed play for teams like Liverpool, Chelski, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Leicester City, Leon, Arsenal......The oldest of that whole crew is 23!!!!!! That is John brooks. The youngest is Ben Lederman who is 15 and was with barcalona until he was forced to leave because they were sanctioned.

We are as loaded with talented youth as we have ever been! Heck John Brooks would be a 10 Million pound transfer if Hertha try to sell him! This could be our golden generation. The start of something big.

I've also been big on Paul Arriola and Rubio Rubin since their performances in the U20 World Cup in 2015. Arriola has looked good in his limited USMNT action, and I expect Rubin to be a big contributor once he finally gets healthy.

Liverpool? Who?

Did GreggK respond to my post with that? I see it in BMW post as a quote but I don't actually see the response. strange.

If so, Carter vickers plays for tottenham
Carter-Vickers plays for Tottenham. I only quoted Carter-Vickers name from his much longer post before that. He has English eligibility also, which is why Jurgen needs to cap tie him asap.

I can't off the top of my head remember who plays for liverpool. I'll see if I can figure it out.

Ahh, I thought you didn't like liverpool and were saying "liverpool who?"
Brooks Lennon is in the Liverpool academy.

I thought Carter-Vickers was captied but you are right, he has never got a call up from the Mens National Team. He has just played for the American U18s, U20s and U23s.

It would be great to have a lineup in 2018 that only 1 or 2 starters played in MLS.

He was on fire last night. It's so nice to a US midfielder that has the skill and touch at his age. He's fearless with taking people on and setup several scoring chances throughout the match. I missed the match on Friday due to the hurricane hitting Tally, but I was able to watch last nights match. Apparently he played very well last Friday too.

I don't see him getting cap tied any earlier than the Gold Cup next summer. The early slate of qualifiers are too tough to play around with, however a group stage Gold Cup game is the perfect time to lock him down.

This team is building for 2022. 2018 is way too soon for some of this talent to develop. But by 2022, we should be firing on all cylinders. Don't forget by the way. Pulisic is only 17 years old! He will be 19 by 2018 world cup. Even John Brooks is young for defender at 24.

Still possible that 9 of the starters play in Europe, but you're right the team will be more filled out in 2022, too bad they'll be playing in a 122 degree desert.

I think guys "playing" is more important than being in Europe. Yedlin would be better off getting minutes in MLS right now than sitting the bench at Newcastle in the Championship (hoping that changes though as the weeks go along). Miazga lost a chunk of time with the move to Chelsea and sitting the bench. I'm all for guys testing themselves and getting minutes at top clubs in Europe, however too many of our guys have wasted crucial years picking splinters out of their butts at Euro clubs.
