Hand and Rahne are in for some surprises with this guy. Strikes me as soft-spoken but knows what he wants to do. The comments from his former players said as much. It may take a few months but his "hand" will be felt at the tiller of the Penn State O. I think Hack coming back would throw a monkey-wrench into M's plans. He'd rather take a new QB and mold him than rework a reworked QB, again.

CJF certainly went out of his way ...a bit more than I expected... to show he was in charge and that he had laid down the law to M. in terms of the kind of O he wanted. Trust will be granted ....gradually. M repeated all the buzz-words he heard from CJF. The two were circling each other warily, not yet quite sure what to expect. But they had established enough rapport to proceed. CJF now knows having a guy who is too much like him ( offensively) isn't the best arrangement.

I don't think M's hands-off approach to the bowl preps are his idea. They fly in the face of convention, and wanting to jump in and attack all the issues from Day One. It may work out better this way but it has to be frustrating. In any case, M's changes to the O wont be visible for some time. Look for Spring Ball to be unusually disruptive, with some happy, and some players not so. a couple RBs. a couple WRs.

Great move to have Rahne leave the QB coaching to M and probably take over TEs. That forces M to be on the sidelines, and expedites his philosophy's implementation. Wonder how the players will respond? Im positive about the future, but some wont be, and a few might transfer. One Q is how many OLmen will be given a chance to get involved as fr. rshfr and rssophs? I think moor....I mean more.

In any case, our offensive coaching energy level has already jumped a couple of notches. A breath of fresh air is replacing the stale. Now lets see how M, H and R can work together in the off season. Id love to be a fly on the wall at those early meetings.
