Anyone else posting here thinking about going? I'm thinking about it. PSU won't be there, but a lot of other good teams are going so it should be pretty good competition. I know two wrestlers who are competing and it would be cool to see them go live.

Interested in Karchala. Wacthed his matches yesterday. First time seeing him without his knee brace. Kid looks great and my national champ favorite..has a tough semi vs Griffith if he gets by that, probably sees Wick in finals

Kharchla easily beat Rarmirez who beat Griffith this year. I' m gonna go against the transitive though and go with the returning NC who has looked good at CKLV. I think that loss to Ramirez had to be a fluke. Kharchla also barely beat a d2 guy earlier this year.

Kharchla's best career win is 3-2 over Cam Amine while tanshirting in 2020.

165 includes Griffith (defending champ with 2 career losses), O'Toole (NCAA 3rd, JR World Champ), Wick (NCAA 3rd/4th), Wittlake (NCAA 4th, Cadet World bronze), Marinelli (we've discussed ad nauseum), Valencia, and Romero (AA at 174 last year).

Declaring a freshman the favorite in that field, 4 weeks into the season, is some serious projection. Even if one thinks he's the best wrestler in that field (shaky at this point), he'd have to beat 2-3 of them consecutively in the country's biggest ass-kicking contest.

Folkstyle yes. But he also destroyed Mekhi Lewis and nearly teched him in freestyle last year. I think that's the main reason ppl are so hi on him. I rewatched that match today and it was complete domination.

Agreed. Too bad for him he chose Deadlift From Bottom U.

We'll see today. i think he handles Griffith. Wick could be a problem first time around..

Chad Red, Alirez match stream craps out. Going to miss the end of a good match.

Griffith is a hammer on top. He rides most guys out....at least Kharchla got out twice against him. If Kharchla can improve his cardio he's going to be a tough out.
Jokes aside - I agree with you. Griffith is nasty on top. I didn’t see the match, but it sounds like CK needs to manage his weight. If he does, look out. A joke on the mat from a self-deprecating Iowa fan - “Kharchla’s looking good for the 8 seed”. Poor Marinelli if that happens

A tough out is fair and always was. Of course that's not the same as THE tough out.

Improved cardio in March at Ohio State isn't a given either.

Regardless, Kharchla is a legit threat.

Oh no, another built in excuse for Iowa and Marinelli. He’s the most “unlucky” 1 seed in history!!!

True, but he's also less than a year out from a serious knee injury. Those things take time. To keep things in perspective he just lost to the defending NCAA champion 5-4 on RT less than a year out from a torn ACL. It's the main reason I picked Griffith in a close one.

Their cardio typically improves throughout the year. Hell, even Courts was in shape by March the year he beat 'Cutch in OT.

Quincy Monday looks incredible! Moves like RBY on his feet. Robb has beaten or kept it close with everyone including David Carr so I thought this match would be close as well. I was definitely wrong. Monday completely dominated him and took him down seemingly at will. Very impressive.
Yianni and Lovett was the best match. Incredible action and scrambling all over the mat. I really thought Lovett was going to win in OT when he got in so deep on the double but Yianni did the Nolf forward somersault and ended up on top. Really really fun match!
