So Crazy Uncle Ben thinks the Biblical requirement should be the basis of our income tax.
1. The actual amount in the Bible, including tithing and other requirements, is about 23%. 10% is the recommended minimum for tithing only.
2. The basis was total wealth, not just income.
3. The Bible makes exceptions for the poor.
You can imagine what Crazy Uncle Ben would say about taxing wealth at a 23% rate.
Applied accurately, under Crazy Uncle Ben's proposal, the poor would owe nothing or next to nothing and Donald Trump would owe $2.3 billion a year. Just the tithing part would be $1B per year, every year.
Sounds fair to me.
(And then there is that "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven" you religious nutcase righties try to ignore.)
