He was on the opposing sideline when Minnesota achieved 9-0 for the first time since 1945. It's an ignominious achievement to say the least.

Look, I understand some of you are disappointed given how heavily invested you are in the program (season tix and all). But you must give credit where credit is due. Minnesota out-executed us today. What I found particularly striking was Fleck's calm demeanor on the sideline after the first quarter. I suspect he knew he could dictate the pace playing Tressel ball; once he got the lead there was no giving it back. Hats off to Fleck. He and his staff did a great job preparing for us.

You can question CJF for not kicking the PAT and not kicking a FG but without an incompetent back judge we never would've scored our last TD. Moreover, nobody asked #11 to throw a freaking pick on our last drive thereby killing a TD. That's not coaching. That's execution. Our kids weren't up to the task today.

I hope our secondary improves exponentially against IU or we're in trouble. While our offense is capable of explosive plays it cannot recover from such abhorrent breakdowns in pass coverage.

On the bright side, who here thought we'd be 8-1 at this point? Who thought we were BCS contenders? Fact is we've been punching above our weight class. Get our $hit together and 10-2 is still possible.

Thank you.

Much of that is true, but Fleck almost DID give it all back by turning ultra-conservative.

Great post, but still have to question why the offensive play calling remains questionable. Their LBers were slow. We barely tried to run outside.

Why is it that our blitz packages are easily recognized, badly timed and our secondary cannot seem to cover during blitzes?
Why is it that our DL is unable to collapse the pocket against B1G competition?
These are recipes for a severe beatdown against OSU and a possible loss to Indiana.

I understand the team is young, but I'm not seeing improvement ala Minnesota who seem to be improving week to week.

Again with the BCS? Do posters here actually follow college football?
Seeing as how you're a JF lover, does it really matter what nomenclature or acronyms you choose to describe the mere fact that PSU will never smell the "Final Whatever" under Fraudklin?

When that happened, I took it as a makeup call for the missed pass interference that was Clifford's second interception.

Rick... I ask the question in another thread. What is up with our blitzes.. delay or whatever. Totally ineffective... I do not understand what we are doing other than taking a player out of coverage. I don't get it at all. You can see it a mile away...we rarely get there.

Your mama must be proud how sharp you turned out

He won the National Championship? did not know you got that for losing to Minny.

Your QB us 18-20 for 338 and you nearly (and should have) lost the game? I would hold the cannonization ceremony!

well Minnesota has not beat a top 5 opponent since 1999 guess who that was then too

It was execution. Our young QB threw 3 picks, our OL struggles with blocks at various points and our WRs dropped several catchable balls. Our O squandered a lot of opportunities but PSU still nearly won and I didn’t see coaching as the problem. IMO, Minny isn’t a better team in terms of top end capability. They just executed better and caught a few more breaks. Why make it about Franklin at all?

9-3 is also very possible.

I think fans are frustrated by our team's persistent lack of execution. Meanwhile, less talented Minnie seems to execute at will. If we did not have the explosive play, where would we be?
