College Running Back Rankings 2017

No way. qadree ollison is a CONSENSUS all American with better stats than Barkley! This must be some sort of mistake.

Not sure how Ollison came up in this discussion other than sarcasm, but I will say that he comes from a very nice family and would be a Nittany Lion but for the unrest with BOB leaving and PSU searching for a new coach. He made a commitment to Pitt during that period and stayed with it, the irony being that they ended up with Narduci. His on campus host was from his high school, none other than John Urschel. Not Barkley talent, but a good kid, nonetheless.

That would give Miles Sanders the chance to rack up some serious yards against Pitt, whose fans trashed him over his choice of PSU. Miles will make his point. :)

Obviously Barkley will get the bulk of the carries this season (duh), but I would love to see Sanders have a breakout year in some way (get enough carries spelling Barkley and/or in the return game).

He's an extraordinary talent with a very rare combination of power, explosiveness and speed. I've enjoyed watching him perform these last few years and am looking forward to the match-up in Columbus between two outstanding football teams. The winner becomes a favorite for a playoff spot....gonna be a helluva battle.

Well, not necessarily. :(

If Ohio State wins, they will be a favorite for a playoff spot. If PSU wins and OSU loses two more times, then PSU will be a favorite.

Please take this opportunity to remember that ohio state had no business being in the 2016 playoff.

As much as I like Barkley, I would love to see Sanders make a big statement against Pitt.

Of course I am assuming that you guys won't have two losses.....if you have two losses, you won't be a favorite for the playoffs......hard to see any two loss team make the final four under the current format

Of course you're also assuming you guys won't have two losses either.

Very true.....we have several tough matchups before that game. Road games with Nebraska and IU and Oklahoma at home are no gimmes. I expect all to be battles.....

Unless it's OSU.

We had one loss by 1 point in 2015 and didn't get in, and there hasn't been one as yet,
so if history is any guide, any two loss team would seem to have an insurmountable obstacle.....

They also never had a non conference champion get in until they did.

True that.....difficult tho it would have to be for the committee to completely discount non-conference results. Perhaps it will happen in time, just seems very difficult given the likely number of undefeated and one loss teams in any given year...time will tell

Not to start an argument about the system but power 5 conference champs should have automatic bids period. After all they are the conferences best teams as determined by the conferences themselves. I'm sure they'd like to put their best foot forward in the competition to crown a national champ.
