A nice surprise that we were in Top 5
Is nice yes - but I always find the date ranges in any of these kinds of things weird. Why 1962? I feel the same way when people share things like most wins since "X" date - or - most championships since Y date. The first NFL draft was in 1936, the NFL/AFL merger didn't occur for several more years, it's not a round number like 40 or 50 years. Just a random thought I guess.
Agree...plus, the game was SO different in 1962 than it is today.Yeah, 1962 seems very random. I like to see ranges like the last 50 years (a nice, round number) or since 1950 (when Joe arrived at PSU) or since we joined the Big 10, something like that. Seems more intentional. Although it's nice to see us in the top 5 despite the apparent randomness of the time period.
What happened to Pitt, the NC of the Universe?
Pitt checks in at #19 with 282 since someone asked.
How many Pitt players were selected before someone asked?
I’m sure Clemson really cares about some mid-tier Big 10 schools who were relevant when all college men had crew cuts and wore khakis in classI counted nine Big Ten schools having more than vaunted Clemson.

And they weren’t exactly racking up NCs before recently either... guess times change.Wasn’t really thinking about Clemson when I wrote that.
NFL GMs are probably a little leery about how Pitt players are going to react playing in front of people. What happened to Pitt, the NC of the Universe?
