It was widely speculated that would be the plan.

Each school paid $18 million to the conference to leave.

UCF seems to switch conferences every two to three years.

Houston... probably the right conference finally.

Cincinnati... not sure.

For awhile the AAC had an interesting mix of primarily public city based schools- Tulane being private yet urban and Navy as an outlier. In football and basketball they had some successes with teams like that Memphis football program that we played along with Cincy in both sports being of strong quality. Houston has gone all in on sports w Dana and Kelvin...they definitely needed to move. We'll see about the rest. UCF has had some flashes...they may find it tough. Such is college sports 2022...
