Confidence meter

I mean, MyMar has wrecked our expectations before, but this time it feels different. Hidlay is a bit of a scary brute too (Mifflin Co represent), but still, I'm feeling north of 90%.

about 80%

Would get a lot of "choking" grief if the upset happens, but the reality is that neither team will have choked. Great team performances.

Saturday mid morning west coast time 80% add in Nick+Shak+Nevills, my late morning confidence was boosted to 99%. If Bo handles business they way he is capable I think it is in the bag.

if zain brings Ronnie's shoulders to the party 100%

if no bonus there 90%

I do not want that at all. If that is the case the kids had a tougher night than I imagine.

I would just as soon PSU have about 148 points going into Snyder's match.

Zain Major - 5 points
Nolf Dec - 4 points
Cenzo 1 point loss - 0 points
Hall Dec - 4 points
Bo Dec - 4 points
Coon Dec over Snyder
ZERO champions for the tan boys.
Final Penn State - 143.5
tOSU - 130.5

WE ARE!!!!

The 4 point swing (Shak MD, Moore L, Nevills W) at 197+285 really helped our margin of error.

That swing took me from 75% to 95%.

Karma as well, considering the free 3 BoJo got from Lehigh MFF.

Lemon at 80% is pretty Damn high. That makes me feel real good.

Spencer decking jerzy and our guys 5 for 5 might be too much to ask. On a confidence scale I go:

Zain
Nolf (although I think Hidley will acquit himself well)
Mark
Bo
Cenzo

I've been fearing Zahid all year until I saw the splitscreen in the semis. He'll need to kick it up a notch. Mark certainly has. MyMar still scares me. IMAR has looked really good. I don't think he gasses this time. I see a very close match.

I hope I'm wrong, but all year folks here have said the time to beat Zahid is Friday night. He's obviously cutting a lot, so he has all day to hydrate today. Throw in the fact that Hall said in an interview that he's only beaten Zahid once out of "hundreds" of scrimmages/matches, and I put Mark's W a little lower on that list. However, Mr. Hall does not lose tournaments often, does he? Maybe I'm just being negative.

Feel like its done deal before 184 but you sure never know

Barring some combination of pins/TFs by Zain, Jason, Cenzo and Mark, I don't think it's mathematically possible to lock up a win before 184.

You are not called Lemon for no reason, I automatically apply what I call the "Lemon doubling factor" to all your predictions. This places us at 160% chance of winning. I feel much better now thank you, most excellent!!!!!

I do not believe Spencer wins by fall, but Penn State winning all should not surprise anybody.

Just reminded me. We've talked about having to root for Suriano over Tomasello all year for this team race. Now, we don't have to. I hope Spencer deprives Nick and RU of their coveted first NC.

I feel great, and Mark has been awesome. He's bigger than last year up top for sure. He's just special. We win it in the first three matches, and Mark wins as well. VJ is a toss up. I had more confidence earlier in the year with VJ. I hope he attacks tonight like last year.

It is PSU's to lose for sure, but someone posted on twitter that the scenario below would give OSU the title:

IMar over Cenzo
Valencia over Hall
Martin over Nickal
Snyder over Coon

Personally (as an OSU fan) I would say there is about a 25% chance at most of that happening, but either way it is a path.

What more could you ask for? 5 returning champs in Murderer's Row. All the drama and excitement are still there at the very end of the season and NCAA championships. Every match will be meaningful, including Zain's last as a college guy. Nolf is now wrestling in top form, despite the injury. Finals rematches at 165 and 184. Big intrigue and rivalry at 174 between friends. PSU fans couldn't have wished for much more, especially after Lee, Rasheed and Nevills came through in their last matches to earn team points. Deep breath and ... can't wait for the Big Show to start.

Go Spencer, but no one has scored on Suriano. I hope Lee deprives him of a title that he transfered to Rutgers for.... I hope the camera shows his dad tonight. Now that would be classic in defeat.

That is correct, without considering any bonus points. PSU needs to win two more than tOSU, so in this scenario both get two, tOSU wins.

Even if Zain and Jason got pins PSU loses by 2, if my math is correct.

Agreed - that is the worse case scenario, and extremely unlikely - more like a 5% than a 25% possibility. In the scenario above they might not even need Snyder depending upon bonus points. Zahid looked quote mortal in his semi, and Mark looks just plain confident and smooth no matter who he is wrestling. There is a chance Mark and Bo split but it would take a perfect storm for both to lose. Imagine the pressure on MyMar right now. Bo needs to show him who is boss again and my money is on Bo. I see Zain as a TFall or Pin, Nolf as a definite win possible major, VJ a bit of a long shot, Mark the slight favorite and Bo a heavier favorite. I think 5 champs is a once in a lifetime event and something we should savor but not expect, 4 champs very difficult but possible, 3 champs highly likely and my guess, 2 champs as close to a slam dunk guarantee as you can have. If we get 4 I'll have that same feeling as last year, and 3 if it includes Bo with close the deal.

Being an optimist, I say 100%. I'm all in. If it doesn't happen the sun will still come up tomorrow.

Pretty sure Surianos old man already had his lawyers draw up the paperwork disallowing ESPN to show his face on tv unless his boy wins...

From a sheer size perspective, Coon would be tough for Snyder to pin. If Snyder has to pin for O$U to win, do you think he will go for broke for the team (and risk getting stuck himself) or try to win 3-2?

That swing helped negate the huge 3 point gift for BoJo. Really wanted it to be under 8. 3 would've been a near lock.

He’d try to win 3-2

Personally, I think he'd go for broke and try to pin Coon in that scenario, but it doesn't matter 'cause it ain't happening (Snyder pinning Coon).

Fortunately, the PSU boys will do a solid for Snyder by making that a moot point so he can focus on just not losing his last collegiate match.
