Congrats frank!

And, so, the fun begins to spread around the rest of the country.

Best of luck, Frank, unless your guys are facing our guys.

Best of luck to Frank.

Hopefully, DT becomes the new volunteer coach :)
Yes we need to lobby for DT to become a Coach at PSU...Great in the room and represents PSU very well...Gotta get him on the staff !!!! Must get....

PSU sports are doing well. David Taylor has expressed interest about being an Athletic Director. I would love to see him doing what he wants to do.

Pretty sure you are the first to think of that. You should talk to Cael about it tomorrow.

Congrats to Frank and family! Blacksburg is a great college town and he will be a major asset to the Hokies.

I am so greedy. I want to keep them all in the NLWC. However, there comes a time when they need to sprout wings and fly. So happy for Frank. He will be a magnet for VT. Great hire.

Congrats to Frank!

And, yes, this is probably a good family move as well. Kera's job might be at risk -- with the gymnastics coach getting fired, she's an interim co-coach. There was no guarantee she'd get the job or be retained if she didn't.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. Great news for Frank and his family, best wishes!

When a Hawkeye coaches elsewhere besides Iowa City its meltdown mode for Hawkeye fans. When a Lion goes elsewhere its break out the champagne like Frank had a baby boy! ;):p
I'm interested in the guys succeeding. The program will take care of itself.

So, yeah, if Frank gets a job with VT, good for him. Dylan Alton in West Point, good for him. Andrew Alton with F&M, good for him. John Hughes, Russ Hughes, Scott Moore, Matt Dernlan ... Brad Pataky and the various guys involved with HS programs ... these are all good reasons to celebrate.

Maybe we should let him focus on the 2020 Olympics first.

Great idea. Which coach are you going to recommend Cael fire to make room for DT?

For Kera, it seems to me to be a tough move, as VT does not even compete in gymnastics. They have a club team in women's gymnastics, but not a team that competes at the NCAA level. She graduated from Oregon State in 2009. Since then she's served as a volunteer coach at Oregon St (2010-11), 3 years as a coach at Rutgers (2012-14) and then a volunteer coach at PSU in 2015, interim assistant coach in 2016, and full-time assistant coach/interim co-head coach at PSU in 2017.

As you noted, her position at PSU seemed somewhat tenuous, as a new coach may have elected to not retain her.

Oh well, not the first couple that have had encountered some obstacles as each tries to advance in their career.

My only surprise in the hiring of Tank and Frayer by VT is that they are pretty close in size. Frayer competed at 66 kg for the US at the 2012 Olympics, and Tank competed at 65 kg for the US at the 2016 Olympics.
