I don't know if the image will show but he just announced on Facebook that he will be continuing his academic and athletic careers at PSU.

Matter of fact i think he will have a good shot at winning it all after being in our room for a year....Joey McKenna at 141 will be next....I believe they both made it to the round of 12 right ? WOW....Unreal.... Words can not describe Cael and this staff....

No McKenna then with Cortez bumping up? Or does he have to sit out a year then go at 149 after ZR graduates?

FRL yesterday: McKenna decision 1-2 weeks away, PSU and Lehigh visits remain.

Winning it all? I'll admit, I love your enthusiasm..

Welcome Corey! IF we did get McKenna you gotta think Cortez wrestles off Keener for 133. I would take Jared but damn we have some depth. Nick Lee won't be backing down anytime soon either.

Crazy depth

Reminds me of Derek Reber.... I want McKenna at 141.
I think you may get your wish Ian,,,,Don't sleep on Keener...He is very very good..2 time PA State Champ...Never had a great college room and still did well....Watch what he does next season after a year in THE room.

Cortez is not going to beat Keener. After we get Joey McKeena.... Cortez may be on the outside....

I hope but a 60-42 career. I like having him and Cortez dueling at 133 with McKenna and NLee at 141. McKenna bumps to 149 in 18/19.

Have you seen the list of guys that have beaten Keener? I'm thinking your opinion of him is a bit overinflated. Actually, I know it is if you're picking him to win a title this year.

Just curious what gives you reason to believe that Keener can beat a guy (Cortez) that has already spent a year in THE room that you say will turn Corey into a National Champion.

The list of possible Spykers just grew by 2 -- Keener's parents ...

Maybe not win it johnstown but Corey was going to come to PSU after High School and changed his mind. Bet mid season he is saying i wish i would have stayed home and went to PSU. He has NEVER been in a great room like ours. I guess that's my point....He is very good....He and Josh Kindig are from the same High School,,,,Blue Mountain.

His college record is 60-42...
Definitely think it's the right move for the kid who wouldn't want to train with this team and these coaches?

Cool. Should help for duals and Big Tens. Would actually like to see Cortez at 133 and Keener at 141, but seems unlikely.

Keener has a 2-6 record at nationals, he never made it to round of 12.

I don't want seem like a jerk, but how much can we expect from Keener? Last year Carpenter faced 6 ranked wrestlers and 7 qualifiers during dual season. I can't help but wonder if Keener might also struggle against that kind of slate.

With that said, welcome aboard Cory. Our room just got stronger, hopefully a lot stronger at 133.

Will compete much better than Carpenter. I will put Nato/Pletcher, Micic, Lucas Hall, and McKee ahead of him. He's somewhere in this bunch:

Scott Delvecchio
Phillip Laux
Dylan Duncan
Jason Renteria
Luke Welch
Eli Stickley (2-0 against him last year)
Tyler Goodwin

Nice 2 deep with McKenna!

Only 3 seniors.

25 Suriano Yanovich
33 Cortez *Keener
41 McKenna NLee
49 *Retherford Verkleeren
57 Nolf Berge
65 Joseph Manville
74 Hall Rasheed
84 Nickal Rasheed
97 *McCutcheon Cassar
HT Nevills Johnson

When Cortez announced his transfer to PSU I'm sure Spyker was telling anyone who would listen that Cortez would be an NCAA champ after a year in THE room, too.

If in another few weeks another guy announces his transfer to PSU at 133lbs Spyker will be telling us that HE is the next NCAA champ for PSU at 133lbs.
