Could one of the many knowledgeable wrestling fans on here analyze....................

I'll give it a shot:

Ohio State
125 - Tomasello or Jose Rodriguez (will be a RS Fr next year)
133 - Tomasello, Rodriguez, or Luke Pletcher (true Fr next year)
141 - Ke-Shawn Hayes (RS Fr next year, stud recruit)
149 - Micah Jordan
157 - Jake Ryan
165 - Isaiah White (true Fr next year, stud recruit)
174 - Bo Jordan
184 - Myles Martin
197 - Kollin Moore (RS Fr next year)
285 - Kyle Snyder

That's quite a formidable lineup for tOSU. They lose only a few NCAA points from this year (DeJuluis at 133). NaTo, BoJo, MyMar, and Snyder could all be considered legit national champ contenders, though 184 may be tougher for MyMar than 174. MiJo will probably be among the top 5 or 6 guys at 149. A lot depends on how good Hayes and White will be, but both are very highly rated recruits (top 10 P4P guys, or close to it). I don't know much about Rodriguez or Moore.

PSU:
125 - Soriano (true Fr)
133 - Cortez/Gulibon
141 - Gulibon/Cortez
149 - Rutherford
157 - Nolf (assuming he doesn't grow)
165 - Joseph (RS Fr)
174 - Nickal (assuming he doesn't grow)
184 - McCutcheon or Rasheed
197 - Cassar (maybe Stout?)
285 - Nevills

Three AAs (and lots of NCAA points) to replace at 125, 133, and 197. Soriano seems college-ready, but we can't expect him to replicate what Mega did as a true frosh. Hopefully Cortez can step in at 133 without much of a drop-off, and we can be at least a little better at 141. We should be much better at 165 and at 285, if Joseph lives up to billing and Nevills can stay healthy and regain the form he flashed as a true Fr last year. One way or the other we should get more out of 184 next year (0 NCAA points in 2016), though we must expect a drop-off at 197.

Iowa and Okie State will also be very tough next year. I'l let someone else review their lineups.

Mostly agree with what Bruce said, though I'm not sure Rodriguez can get to 125 if Tomasello moves up. Rodriguez is an OH state champ and was a top 50 national recruit. I think Pletcher shirts (barring injuries). Moore is another OH state champ, had a good but not great shirt year, will be an upgrade over Mark Martin but not threatening Cox. Snyder returning is still a big question mark, I think he probably will, but nobody knows for certain until he does or doesn't. If not, insert Tavanello (RS SR), who will score at nationals but not threaten for the title.

Pokes -- same as this year except:
- 125 - Klimara gone, insert Nick Piccinnini -- long-term upgrade, short-term maybe not
- 133 - Kaid Brock replaces the serial killer -- definite upgrade
- 165 - Dieringer gone, insert Chandler Rogers or Ryan Blees or everybody's favorite transfer back to PA -- downgrade, though Rogers could be a huge challenge for anyone at this weight
- 285 - Marsden gone, insert a huge question mark (maybe incoming true FR Ethan Andersen, 220 from Iowa) -- massive downgrade

Iowa -- same as this year except:
- 141 - Grothus gone, insert Topher Carton or Logan Ryan
- 157 - Cooper gone, insert Mike Kemerer (or possibly Kemerer to 149, Sorensen to 157)
- 165 - Rhoads gone, insert ?? -- guessing Burke Paddock, HR badly wants true FR Alex Marinelli here
- 197 - Burak gone, insert Steven Holloway
- 285 - Stoll assuming he's healthy, otherwise PA champ Aaron Bradley steps in as a true FR

Hard to judge Iowa's changes, except they are definitely losing points at 197 and most likely gaining points at 157. Otherwise looks like more of the same, unless Marinelli actually goes (Brands shirts all incoming FR, so this seems unlikely).

Yup, Ohio State has tons of firepower and Mikey Tog's boys should be tough as well. Pure guess.....

125: Piccinni < --- Bigtime recruit
133: Brock <--- Holy terror before the injury
141: Heil
149: Collica
157: Joe Smith
165: Rogers (Chance??)
174: Crutchmer
184: Boyd
197: Weigel
285: ??? <--- No idea

Here's my take on Ohio State's lineup being an Ohio State fan. I wouldn't expect much from Rodriguez or Moore, any points at NCAA's would be a bonus. Both were fringe top 100 recruits and I haven't heard any chatter about them this year. That being said not like we got many points from 133 and 197 this year (DiJulius had just one win and Mark Martin didn't even make the tourney).

The bigger Q is will Tomasello stay at 125 and will Pletcher RS next year? I think Ryan will go for it next year and we see Pletcher in the lineup. Same Q for Isaiah White, will he RS? I say no and we see him in the lineup as well.

Keshawn Hayes has looked very good in his RS year and I would expect him to be a top 10-15 wrestler next year in a very deep weight division.

The other big Q I have is will the Jordan brothers live up to their hype and actually make a run deep in the NCAA? I realize Bo has placed 3rd twice now but for all the hype he had coming out of HS that is a disappointment in my mind. Hopefully the move to 174 will help him. Micah needs to improve from bottom, he was ridden for 2 straight periods in the NCAA against Cruz...that just can't happen.

According to the Flo article Tom linked in another post, VT returns quite a few points (69.5)......
Dance (1), Chishko (10.5), McFadden (13), Epperly (20.5), Zavatsky (2), Haught (9), Walz (13.5)

Appreciate your thoughts. This board is better when posts like yours are made (from OSU land). The OSU lineup next year looks very good.

When Micah moves to 149, Randy Cruz' leg ride will seem like a frolicking trip through the flower gardens.

If Micah is going to move up, he will need to spend all summer on working on getting of bottom. Bigger, stronger guys at 149 and will be easily be able to keep him down.

As far as the team race goes next year, bonus points will be the reason Penn State wins again. They have created a culture that it's expected of you to earn bonus points. How many times have we seen late in a match someone's up by 7 and they get a takedown to to get the major? They go out there and they score points. Other lineups are going to be really good no doubt, but our lineup is scary good.

Not just in general -- Zain went for it in the finals this year, and nobody will forget Ed Ruth blitzing Robert Hamlin for 3 takedowns in the last 30 seconds of the national finals.

Sorry, that is living up to a lot of hype in my book.

I don't think Gulibon's making 133...unless someone forces him to.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that conversation that takes place between Tom Ryan and Micah, when Ryan informs Micah he needs to move up for Hayes, lmao.

Just a vague memory, but wasn't Rasheed far ahead of McFadden when his gas tank ran out(basically that happened every match, but trying to recall...)?

"You get to eat this year."

Micah on full feed may very well take out sorenson for #2.

Apparently Hayes, they believe will be great. Could very well be, he was highly sought after.
Ohio State is going to be ranked #1 next year, I would imagine, based on their overall lineup, for dual meet at least.

Ohio State will be nasty. They've got several guys who bonus as well. Will be a very interesting sorting out process until the Scuffle.

I'm most interested in 184-197 for us. I'm hoping Rasheed fits 184 well because I still really like his potential.

Scary potential, replacing the 149 injury issues with Hayes at 141 and replacing Courts with anyone with a pulse, much less White at 165. Bonus will still favor us and may save the day.

didn't he win the NLO this year?

Here is what I am about 99 percent sure we will see, and go up against for the title next year

125 Rodriguez(NO way Nato can hold 125) v Suriano: Advantage PSU
133 NaTo(Pletcher will shirt) v Cortez: Advantage Ohio St
141 Kayes v Jimmy: Advantage Ohio St
149 Micah v Zain: Advantage PSU, BIG advantage
157 Jake Ryan v Nolf: Advantage PSU, BIG advantage
165 I. White v Joseph/Morelli, not ready to call advantage either way, push
174 Bo v Bo: Advantage PSU, fairly big advantage depending on if Bo J stays away from Nickal
184 Martin v Rasheed/McCutcheon: Advantage Ohio St
197 Kollin Moore v Cassar: Push
Hwt Snyder v Nevills: Advantage Ohio St

Just about as close as you can get, in BOTH dual meet and tournament...

I think jefe called it: It will come down to bonus, and a break or two either way(Ohio state received a miracle bracket when everything opened up for Martin).

Edit: Although Hayes will be the favorite, let's wait and see what improvements Jimmy makes...he will have another off season to grow into the weight, get stronger, and figure out how to improve his game in getting out from bottom, if he can do that, I'm not ready to concede the match to Hayes.

Also is the wild card in all of this, and this also has me thinking...If Iowa isn't shirting Marinelli, and Ohio State isn't shirting White, and it comes down to how close this is....I don't think it's "out of the question" that Cael says screw you and takes the shirt off of Hall to trump both of them and secure the damn thing for us.

Just sayin, it's POSSIBLE, we all know that nobody is beating Mark Hall next year, attached OR unattached.

Can we start a go fund me account for mark hall to attend midlands next year and lay waste to the field there?

The scuffle already overshadows it so let's be fair and grow the sport.

Wherever Mark wrestles, I can promise you, he's going to win. Midlands, Scuffle, or the Greater Argentina open, wherever.

A lot of people aren't making weight at the Greater Argentina Open.

I know one thing for certain: If I get tickets I will go, but there is NO WAY I am getting a seat in the upper deck in one of their arena's or stadium's....they are by far the steepest in the world, and one wrong step and it might be a long way down.
