For us obviously no masks, I was keeping a mask in my pocket to avoid confrontation. no more, things we continue though
We carry and still spray our hands with GermX when eating out
We still spray our dinner table after eating
Curious what others may still be doing

I'm still paying triple the price for groceries. Does than count?

I work in NJ and I am shocked at the number of people I see wearing a mask.

To answer your question, I have a bottle of hand sanitizer in every little corner of my world. Other than that, nothing different.

We are the same with sanitizers, every room in the house plus two in the car. Thanks for the response(s).

I continue to pretend that I don't know what a nanometer is when I enter a medical facility as supposed Ph.Ds that make their rules still don't know or refuse to change. Lost quite a bit of confidence in the medical community for this and other policies.

I continue to believe that most teachers are good people despite having gone along with teachers unions and democrats in keeping our children out of schools for criminally long periods even as they are now admitting to some of the damages they caused in significantly lowered test scores while still ignoring that they stole once in a lifetime events from a generation for political reasons.

I continue to be kind to friends and family who spoke out against the unvaxxed and even vaccinated their children who were at near statistically zero risk from covid and the risk of vaccine to their cardiovascular systems is starting to leak out. For example, my one pro-vax uncle now has covid for the 2nd time in 3 months and has 4 shots in him while not understanding how it could happen because he masks in public. His very liberal son has already vaxxed his toddler who they keep away from most people to protect him.

I cannot think of anything that was specifically due to covid that I kept. I guess during Covid we started to use Instacart and get groceries delivered and now my wife uses it all the time as she doesn't have to goto the store, so that now costs me money as you pay more plus a delivery fee.

RE: this sentence. It's obvious the medical community didn't really know what to do from the start, yet they presented to the public as if they knew exactly what to do. Once people started to question that, it became more politics than science. The media exacerbated it.

RE: this one above. I have first hand experience on this one as I have a now 16 YO high school JR whose life has turn upside down since the school closings started. I will not go into detail, but it has really devastated her life (and our family) over the last 2+ years while the illness itself has had zero impact on our health.

I am still buying tickets to high school events online because that is all they offer at the Varsity Level. Other than that I haven't done anything COVID (except catching it) since Fall of 2020.

None of what they did worked.

Only thing that changed for me from before the Wuhan virus struck is now I trust the medical world about as much as I trust government and the media. Sorry for being political but that is truly the only difference. Don’t use sanitizers as they are more dangerous.
Interesting, we could not wait to get the first two shots, believing we would be more mobile, then after whatever amount of time scheduled the booster. Now, we share the same distrust you reference and are done with Covid shots. We do get annual Flu shots. I did not get the Shingles shots and, of course, came down with Shingles.

Since I lost two sons, one 38 and one 40 bought into the anti vaxxer cult brainwashing and politicizing science and the ignored facts as to what herd immunity is and is not my wife and simply sanitize but only wear a mask when we go into crowded areas of high risk people.

I keep reading about this jump in heart issues among young men from the vaccines but studies I have read released in 2015 - 17 documented the rise in young men getting heart disease through the use of anabolic steroids.
We recruited two young men with the heart issues in Franklin's first class I believe..

So, those of you that are paranoid partisans pradle on, distort statistics and facts. Rational people like the OP.. will adapt to reality as it comes to us.

I rarely shake hands with anyone anymore. Fist bump at best. I'm OK with this because of my next item.

I try to stay at least 6 feet away from people all the time. Not because I'm afraid of catching a disease from them, but have decided that 80% of people are morons and degenerates. 🤣

Only 80%? That is giving away too much on the benefit of a doubt.

As a school administrator we were in many safety meetings. One of the presentations was by a company that specializes in sanitation. In the presentation he talked about blow dryers in bathrooms and how they spread germs. His term was “urination spreaders”. Haven’t used one since.

Was very lucky in transitioning to a new position 12/2019 that was work-at-home. We had always been stockpiling food & alcohol in bulk so not much adjustment there, live in a mostly rural setting so no contact except deliveries. Only real change was the mask which we only wore when out and quit once mandates ended. Never went stupid with sanitizer and don't use it now.

Other than getting gouged on 3x pricing and kinks in the supply chain, the whole thing was minimal impact to us. My major problem was having to drive 45 min to the next state over to get Dos Equis Lager but just load up the trunk with a dozen cases or so and I'm good for a couple weeks. Life is good.

Wash my hands way more frequently and try to open door knobs in public places with a paper towel - since so many people just walk around with pee hands and shit.

I was never healthier than during the 18 months of peak Covid - had almost no minor colds or sore throats. I figured that there was some sort of correlation going on - wash off the germs more frequently and you’ll be healthier (I’ll be damned - ut worked ;)). I pretty much went to the office during the worst of it because it was quiet and no one else was here. It was heaven - had to do rotator cuff rehab during the early days so I’d do it on the conference room table.

Funny thing was, a guy at work fairly recently laughed a bit as I opened a bathroom door with a paper towel - the same guy, when he would come into the office once in a blue moon, was super mask wearer. But then again, he was the same guy who didn’t like Sicario because he thought the extradition scene out of Juarez was totally unrealistic - but then, in the next breath, went on about Game of Thrones - dude, that show has ****ing Dragons and frozen zombies in it!!!

I came to the conclusion that the medical community and media are grossly incompetent. Worse, they don't know that they are incompetent but feel the need to "save us". There is also a huge level of corruption, as evidenced by their attempt to kill any conversation about the virus' origin. Anyone who hasn't read up on that effort should. Good articles from both left and right-wing media agree that there was a coordinated effort to protect China. As horrible as that is, there has been little to no accountability (meaning, it will happen again). So we spend days and months on an attempted murder but there isn't any serious investigation into an event that resulted in almost 7,000,000 deaths.

Today the media is attacking Elon Musk who, by almost any account, is the greatest human on the planet. He almost single-handedly is killing ICE engines (saving the planet), reinvigorating space exploration, and providing high-speed internet to third-world nations (plus Ukraine).

So in the end, I am forced to use my own education (limited) and common sense (uncommonly strong). So i am continuing better diligence on washing hands, staying clear of sick people, and not going out when I am sick. I do the cough into may arm thing and try to sneeze into a cloth or tissue. I quit taking any vaccines but am trying to do more with diet, weight and exercise.

I have no trust, and I mean ZERO, of the media, medical community or anyone who suggests that they know anything more than what I see on this board. They don't know. So when I see any of the Dr. "talking heads" on TV, it is all I can do to remain even because I really fight my disdain for these people.

In the end, I like Mark Twain's line "if I don't read the paper I feel uninformed. When I do read the paper I feel misinformed".

Almost exactly the same here. Came to the office almost everyday. Only about 10 of us did in a building that had 250 people. The janitorial staff came everyday, and as always, cleaned the bathrooms (3 of them throughout the buildings) 3X a day (10AM, 1PM, 4PM). I never had cleaner bathrooms for 2 years in my life.

Prior to Covid, I ALWAYS used a paper towel to open the bathroom doors. We have tons of Software Engineers here, many from India, and I saw many never washing their hands after using the bathroom. Straight from the urinal/stall to the door. That started me on the paper towel (and always washing hands after opening other building doors now). One dude, after lunch every day, would sit on the sinks and wash his feet in the sinks. That was gross. Thank goodness he decided that he needs to work from home everyday.

Covid has unfortunately led to an epidemic of germophobia. There's just no scientific evidence that trying to eliminate germs from your life will benefit your health, and lots of evidence that it will backfire.

Children's hospitals across the country right now are packed with kids with respiratory illnesses -- not covid, but the routine bugs that normally don't cause problems in kids with normal immune systems. What it probably means is that kids forced to stay home and wear masks at school weren't exposed to the normal level of germs, so their immune systems became weak, which led to serious life-threatening illness.

A germ-free world is simply not possible (nor desirable), so human survival depends on keeping a healthy immune system. Meanwhile, there's increasing evidence that a healthy immune system not only fights off germs, it also keeps rogue cells under control before they become cancer.

I just think it's pretty intuitive. Why mess with success. Human beings have lived with dirt, viruses, bacteria, molds and yeasts and other gunk for a million years. We've evolved an amazing immune system that deals with it all.

There's absolutely no evidence that masks, distancing, not shaking hands, constant exposure to hand sanitizer and antibacterial chemicals -- none of this is shown to make you healthier in any way. And it probably does the opposite.

Not me, but I see a HUGE difference in our young men and women. They are lazy and have a tough time sticking to a deadline. They are also more tied to their phones and laptops than prior to COVID.

Daily things I hear out of their mouths:

Can I email it to you?
I was only 5 minutes late.
I have a sniffle and can't make class because I don't want to give anybody anything. Then when they show up at the office later they still have a big black X on their hand.
Can I turn this in late for full credit.
After getting 17% on three exam..."Can I still pass this class"?
Can I zoom in to your class?

I know we all say that the next generation is doomed but this may be the first time I am starting to believe it.

Couldn't agree more.

It's not great that people seem to not like to lower their high beams for oncoming traffic since Covid began, if you think Covid is dangerous wait till we see the long term effects of oncoming traffic closing their eyes. I have stared into opposing highbeams at least 30X more in the last two years than the previous 20+ years of driving combined.

Not much here, except for the eye-rolling at people who wear masks outside, or pretty much anywhere at this point. Oh, and boosters, lots of eye rolling at people still getting boosters. Pretty sure that will continue for the foreseeable future.

Have you heard the latest? It appears people, especially those of retirement age, are having dementia/delirium symptoms a few days after a booster. My boss's father was completely out of it, and rushed to the hospital with what they thought was potentially a stroke. After lots of tests, they ruled that out and he eventually regained his faculties and was getting ready to be discharged. The hospital pulled his wife aside and said they saw something in his intake forms they wanted to discuss.

Hospital: "Is it accurate that he got a covid booster x days ago?"
Wife: "Yes"
Hospital: "Please report this to the FDA. He is not the first patient we've seen with these symptoms a few days after a booster. It's very important that you report it to the FDA."

Just remember, whether you think the covid shots are good or bad, it doesn't matter. We are witnessing the largest (uncontrolled) clinical trial ever, except no one in the medical or regulatory field seems interested in studying or understanding short term or long term effects. It's pretty amazing.

I ended up with covid two weeks after my second pfizer shot but I do think the shot helped ease it. Two days ago I got a second booster in one arm and a flu shot in the other. The covid arm still hurts more than the flu arm lol

YES! We haven't stepped into a Walmart in 2 years and it feels amazing. Grocery delivery is our new norm with the exception of Costco. I love shopping there.

I got neuropathy in my foot a few months ago and I couldn't walk much so I started using walmart pickup which is free with an order over $39 and it's been great

Have always hated those things. Far worse than paper towels. They spread bacteria and viruses like a leaf blower. Should be banned.

Being a moron and degenerate is not spread by casual human contact. Sexual......yes.

Gigantic bingo. Did you know Amish kids get very little asthma or allergies? Scientists studying that phenomenon believe it is because they are always outside in the yard, garden, fields or barns around animals. Seems their immune system adapts to various exposures and functions far better.

As for hand sanitizers. ......the human body has a vast amount of friendly bacteria called the biome. Read up on it someday. The gut biome has more bacteria than we have cells and is critical to our health. Long term antibiotic use will wipe out the good bacteria and lead to life threatening infections like c. Diff.

Same is true of your skin. It has an a healthy supply of friendly bacteria that helps protect you from infections. Over use of sanitizers or other things can lead to serious infections like staff infections.

Maybe Granny in Josey Wales was right....make a poltice of moss and lichens and let it go!😉

I have no “habits” as I didn’t fall for any of this covid bullshit.

Can’t say I have any long term habits. Always wash my hands but hated the hand sanitizer. Historically I’ve never liked touching stuff that strangers come in contact with but that was long before Covid. Hearing about some clown washing his feet is disgusting.
