Cubby Bair Dies In Auto Accident

...very sorry to hear... he was an official for many years and liked by all...
... he worked many Nittany Lion Open tournaments and was a fun guy to be around...

Very sad to hear, he was a great man. Grew up wrestling with him officiating many tournaments as well as being teammates with his son. Cubby was always the life of the tournament. Will be missed

I work with his son. His son is a very good man. Great reflection of his father, RIP Chubby

Any relation to Scott Bair, mid 90s state champ? 2x I think from Bald Eagle Nittany.

I don't know if he is related to Scott Bait but I believe Cubby had a sister who was killed in a similar accident in the same general area about a month ago.

Cubby was a great person to know and I am saddened to learn he has passed.

God Bless.

He was so much fun to be around, He really was good for the sport and loved working the tournys. Always had people laughing.

I knew Cubby for many years and just recently talked to him at a local grocery store. When my son was in youth wrestling Cubby did many of the local tournaments, he was great with the kids and always handled the coaches and over zealous parents in a kind way. Just a funny quick story about Cubby. He loved golf and at a local tournament he was in he got paired up with this dentist from State College. The dentist started making jokes about Cubbies height, Cubby told him after about 8 holes the next joke would be his last. The dentist didn't believe him. I'm not sure the move he used but to this day theirs a hole in the green were the dentist back hit. RIP my friend.

Had a chance to play golf with Cubby at the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament several years ago. We were paired with Bill O’Brien and Cubby jumped out of our cart and hopped right in with BOB and rode the entire 18 in his cart! He had BOB in stitches most of the day...he was truly that kind of guy!

In late May of this year, Cubby Bair escaped serious injury when he crashed after pulling into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass a tractor trailer on Route 322. http://www.lewistownsentinel.com/news/local-news/2018/06/police-report-138/

In October of this year, his sister died when she crashed after pulling into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass a tractor trailer on Route 322.

And now he dies after drifting into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason and crashing into an oncoming vehicle.

Very sad.
