I see Iowa ended with 129 points to PSU's 113.5 . Does anybody know how many points Iowa loses if Warner lost that 1st round match instead of the gifted win?

Even without the pathetic officiating Warner goes to the consolation round. It is not difficult to picture Warner still placing after losing the first round match.

Warner actually is pretty good at wrestlebacks from what I've seen. I think he always finds his way back to where he ultimately is seeded.

Throwing in the towel hasn't been something he does. He is a pretty damn talented kid and from my observations seems like a very nice young man also.

What hurt the most was zero points at 149 and 165. That changes next year with Van Ness and either an improved Joe Lee or Facundo
I am confident PSU will have points at 149 next season, whether from SVN or a bulked up Bartlett wrestling all year at the weight. At 165, J Lee obviously has the talent but needs to improve at college wrestling where he can't just throw people around.

I would expect more bonus points from 133, 141, 174 and 184.

This had to be the lowest bonus points a Cael-coached PSU team has had.
17? I know someone has this at their fingertips, but I'm pretty sure one of our more recent championship years was 13 or 14.

I'll take those overtime wins in the finals if my choice was for a few pins in the first and second round.

I'm referring to the individual excitement of the moment not team team scoring effect.

A pin in the finals would also be cool I guess.

Just looked it up and the 2018 team had 141.5 points to the OSU's 134.5 points. PSU went 39-9 overall and scored 26.5 bonus points off 8 majors, 5 techs and 4 pins.
That's 23.5 points, not 26.5. Here's the recent history of Penn State bonus points;

2011: 3 Majors, 1 Tech Fall, 6 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 16.5
2012: 7 Majors, 3 Tech Fall, 7 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 25.5
2013: 8 Majors, 1 Tech Fall, 10 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 29.5
2014: 7 Majors, 2 Tech Fall, 5 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 20
2015: 5 Majors, 1 Tech Fall, 0 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 6.5
2016: 7 Majors, 4 Tech Fall, 5 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 23
2017: 5 Majors, 9 Tech Fall, 7 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 32.5
2018: 8 Majors, 5 Tech Fall, 4 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 23.5
2019: 7 Majors, 2 Tech Fall, 9 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 28
2021: 11 Majors, 4 Tech Fall, 0 Falls/DQ/FFT/InjDef, Total Bonus = 17

Roar I quoted what I read in the 2018-2019 yearbook, but I always appreciate the information that you provide and your positive infinity! ;)

Ha! Thanks for the note, but "positive infinity" is already taken :) ;) !!

Btw, where did you see it in the yearbook. If it is somewhere that gets repeated every year, I can see about getting it changed.

Roar, page 78 and the 4th paragraph down on the left hand column of the 2018-2019 yearbook. PS Roar, I know you're involved with the PSU wrestling club and I just wanted to give all you guys a big shoutout for everything you do to support PSU wrestling and us very fortunate fans. Thanks again!

Appreciate the response. It's in the recap section, and will not be repeated, so all is good with future yearbooks. Again, thanks!

Striving for perfection in All aspects of the program. The PSWC is a great club. I really missed the socials this year. They are great "warm-ups" for us fans before the matches.
