Curley and Schultz did cover up to protect PSU cheerleading

So one of my roommates at PSU was a PSU cheerleader for a short period (great gig by the way!) and the following information became such common knowledge that even the Collegian ran a comic strip joke about it. But in the late 90s a male cheerleading coach apparently woke up a male cheerleading prospect after a party with a bit of unexpected head. From what I recall, the coach apparently was told to leave the state and apparently the cheerleading squad didn't have a coach for quite awhile due to the events. Can anyone corroborate?

This information leads me to believe that there was a cover up. It was to protect PSU cheerleading and their coach. It had nothing to do with any retired coaches who had their own charities and the coach was not a legend of their sport. But there was a cover up by Curley and Schultz.

Perhaps this was just their way of conducting business. To say the Sandusky issue was to protect PSU football is ludicrous. PSU football was not a culprit. PSU football players were not a culprit. McQueary was weak and afraid and didn't do the right thing that night. He could have prevented so much damage and he has to live with that. But he did the right thing after talking with his father and went to Paterno. Paterno did the right thing by policy and law going to Curley and even pushed it a bit by following up.

We know who failed the kids at PSU (and trust me, there was infinitely more failure at the 2nd mile and government). They did it the same way with PSU cheerleading apparently. Curley and Schultz made the problems go away - temporarily. They are getting off easy. This is how they conducted business, not for PSU football or PSU cheerleading, but for themselves.
