Danny Earl

It would be nice to schedule VMI at home in the next couple years. They

played Maryland and WVU last year. All the best to Danny.

He was a great player for Penn State. I would have loved to see what that 1996 team would have done if Danny had not hurt his back in the middle of that season. He still played, but was not the same.

I am extremely pleased. As many of you know I graduated from the Virginia military institute before later heading to penn state for graduate school. It is good to see a penn stater taking over the program. I look forward to reaching out to coach earl.

Yeah this is awesome and what ChiTown said. Very good job for an up and comer. He was always a coach on the court and always looked the part. Congrats to him. Hopefully he becomes a star in the profession.

Did you notice that Jones calls it the Virginia Military Academy rather than Virginia Military Institute. Way to proofread the article by Jones and his paper. Did it not dawn on him that he wrote VMI over and over rather than VMA....LOL. I still enjoyed the article anyway. LOL.

I'll be rooting for VMI because of Danny Earl, but he's taking on a tough job. VIM Basketball has an all-time .375 winning percentage.

The expectations won't be the same as say at a big school though. A .500 record and possibly winning the southern conference tourney is what matters to most VMI alums. There is no reason Danny Earl cannot get that done.
VMI is a tough place to recruit to though. Four years of living in a barracks with no tv, no air conditioning in your room, etc. It is a very spartan life and extremely demanding. It is certainly not for everyone. Combine the military life with the academics and it is very challenging.
