Dapper Dan - Barr vs. Welsh announced

Guesses on Team PA:

121: Cael Nasdeo (AAA)
Branden Wentzel (AA) could go if no SR wins in AAA (which is possible)

127: Vinny Kilkeary (AAA)

133: Jaden Pepe (AA)
Pepe vs. Scott Johnson likely AA final, winner will be a 2x champ

139: Pierson Manville (AAA)
Manville is the only real choice even if he doesn't win states
EDIT: Manville is a JR. 139 is otherwise a crapshoot.

145: Mac Church (AAA)
Church vs. Matt Repos likely AAA final, winner goes to Dapper Dan

152: Ty Watters (AAA)
Watters vs Dagen Condomitti likely AAA final, winner goes to Dapper Dan

160: Dylan Evans (AAA) or Grant MacKay (AA). Probably Evans since AAA. Both will be 2x state champs and from SW region.

172: Rocco Welsh (AAA, confirmed)

189: Hadyn Packer (AAA) or Jacob Jones (AA)
Very likely neither wins states over Tucker Hogan (AAA) and Rune Lawrence (AA). Alternately, could bump up 2022 champ Holden Garcia from 172 AA, though he might not repeat this year.
Could also bump Sasso back down.

215: Sonny Sasso (AAA)
If Sasso goes 189, there will be no PA state champ at 215

285: Riley Robell (AA)
Robell vs. Ulrich likely AA final, both national top 10, winner goes to Dapper Dan

Good catch. I knew that, somehow missed it last night.

From a Dapper Dan perspective, 139 is a complete disaster.

AAA: the top 3 wrestlers are Kollin Rath (SO), Pierson Manville (JR), and Dalton Perry (SO). 4th-6th will likely be seniors:
- Connor Saylor, S5 last year, 34-8/NW-3 behind Manville and Perry this year
- Oliver Fairchild, R4/DNP. Likely NE-2 behind Rath, 30-7 if so
- Nate Roth, likely SW-1, 12-1 if so. Roth beat state champ Briar Priest last year, but missed the postseason with injury.

AA is worse -- no returning placers among seniors, and quite possible the best senior finishes 6th or lower. Returning seniors:
- Joey Sentipal, R2/DNP. Likely SW-1, 42-6 if so
- Bryson Vaughn, R3/DNP. Likely SE-1, 35-10 if so
- Taylor Smith, R4/DNQ. Likely SW-2, 34-6 if so

I wouldn't be surprised to see the AA 133 runner-up get named here. Or conceivably a large weight allowance to let Repos go despite being a 145.

Sometimes they fill in with some of the prep school kids. I dont follow that well enough if there are no brainers there.

Good call.

Spencer Barnhart (Malvern Prep, National Preps finalist) is easily the best choice for 139.

189 doesn't have a good preps option -- the 2 PA Preps finalists are a SO and a JR.

But if Sasso goes 189, then Josh Cordio (Seminary, NP 3rd) could be an option at 215.
