That is quite the impressive lineup.

Details are from a Flo article, available at THIS LINK.

Also, a reminder that it's no longer the Dapper Dan, it's the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic.

I was hoping that Brady Berge would be on the USA team.

Any word on why Brady is not on the US team? He has beaten Allar twice this year and the Classic committee has been pretty good about including Penn State recruits.

Hard to believe that Arujau wrestled at Suriano's weight just a year ago (or vice versa).

Here's a way-too-early look at what the PA team might look like -- caveat: assumes current weights:

120 - Matt Parker, Pennridge (Lehigh)
126 - Chandler Olson, Shippensburg (Drexel)
126 - Spencer Lee, Franklin Regional (Iowa)
132 - Brian Courtney, Athens (Virginia)
if he loses: Austin Desanto, Exeter (Drexel), Cole Manley, Altoona (Virginia Tech)
138 - Max Murin, Central Cambria (Iowa)
if he loses: Jimmy Hoffman, Hazleton (Lehigh), Zack Trampe, Council Rock South (Binghamton)
145 - Jarod Verkleeren, Hempfield (Iowa State)
152 - Cam Coy, Penn Trafford (Virginia)
160 - Eric Hong, North Allegheny (Penn)
170 - Mike Labriola, Bethlehem Catholic (Nebraska)
182 - Travis Stefanik, Nazareth (Princeton) or Nino Bonaccorsi, Bethel Park (Pitt)
195 - Jake Woodley, North Allegheny (Oklahoma)
220 - Brian Kennerly, Upper Darby (Virginia)
if he loses: Joe Doyle, Council Rock South (Binghamton), Blake Reynolds, Greenville (Lock Haven) -- or even bump up 2016 champ Cole Nye, Bishop McDevitt (Michigan State)
285 - Niko Camacho, Bethlehem Catholic (American)
if he loses: Seth Janney, Malvern Prep (Cornell)

Jake Oliver may be 170....PIAA State Champ last year. Sr this year. Going to Edinboro

Zero chance if Labriola wins ... and I don't see anyone beating the cobra. He beat Wittlake this year.

Great info guys. A lot of talent coming out of PA for sure. 16 different University's benefiting from the PA high school programs.

I would think that Desanto may be the 2nd 126. I know earlier in the season that's where he said he was heading for postseason, no matter who was there. So he would be the frontrunner to face Mejia at this point (beat Olson 6-3 earlier this year).

Zack Trampe is at 132 now, but Courtney is frontrunner if he wins AA. I'm not sure if Manley has or is heading down.

I would put Furman or Camacho - whoever takes the title - at 285. I saw Furman handle Janney at Escape the Rock. I know he lost to Reid earlier, which he later avenged.

Agreed on Desanto -- if he drops to 126 he'll definitely make the finals again, and 2x finalist behind Lee should qualify him. Or, if he wins 132 and can make 126 for Dapper Dan, good enough for me. Either way, his only losses in 2 years would be in the state finals to Lee. If that's not good enough for that spot, I don't know what is.

Forgot about Furman, probably because he DNQ for states last year. Yeah, he's in the mix. Good catch. (I remembered Gus Solomon ... can't get them all.)

Labriola won't be on the team because US isn't sending a 170. Its a shame because he would be a sure win for the PA team and one of the best in PA this year

US isn't sending a 170, or it just hasn't been announced yet?

Extremely dark horse. Woodley is tested nationally and is already a state champ. Beat Kui, split with Borst, split with Hoffman, beat Walters, beat Barrick, beat Nye. Not defending his state title would be a major upset.

Nye would be next up -- returning state champ as well. Though he'll be a 1x champ, got majored by Hoffman earlier this year.

EDIT: Looked up McGonigle's record. Half of his matches are at 182, so that's where I'd expect him to be for states. And that's also a problem for him -- Stefanik and Bonaccorsi are both national-level guys.

Remember that PIAA is finally (!) seeding the regional champs this year, so Stefanik and Bonaccorsi will be on opposite sides of the bracket. McGonigle would have to beat both to win states.

Both Allar and Gomez are looking for new landing spots, as they have both decommitted from ISU n the last 2 days, with Kevin Jackson resigning at end of season. Will be interesting to see if Verkleeren follows suit.

Got my tickets in the mail yesterday.

I would have thought they both would have signed their NLI. Could be that ISU gave them their releases also (see David Taylor ;) ).

Could Flo have been posturing when they suddenly moved Fix to #1 ahead of Spencer recently? ....... Perhaps they made arrangements to allow Fix 15 pounds for their weigh-in also!

If Fix hangs with Spencer or God forbid beats him, the reason will be Spencer is undersized....that Fix looks 2 weights heavier. It's an Iowa fans "go to" move...
Dude, Posts like this one is going to get you banned on certain sites b4 you even sign up again.;)

Curious as to what you base that on?

-Lee is an animal on top.
-When they wrestled two years ago in free, Lee had big TD edge on their feet.
-IMHO Lee is the best HS kid I ever seen wrestle.
-Lee will want revenge and want to dominate him!
-After watching Fix win close against Gomez( last desperation attempt by Gomez inflated score).
-Desanto(who Lee teched in the state finals last year) is a beast who pretty much techs everyone, well I watched Silva totally shut him down and beat him. Then in a different tourney Lee totally dominated Silva.
-I just believe folkstyle really favors Lee in this match-up, he is better on his feet and is a hammer on top.
- The only thing that favors Fix is his size advantage and his endless gas tank.

Just my take. I just hope this match truly materializes and no one drops out. I will gladly admit I was wrong if it is close or if Fix wins.

I think you are right on. Only issue is size and SL has the attitude to give away pounds in order to get the rematch! Looking forward to watching though. $$ to be made with this one!

Just announced: monster 170 matchup, Labriola vs. Kaleb Romero (OH).

Just announced: monster 170 matchup, Labriola vs. Kaleb Romero (OH).
Very interested to see that one. Labriola is obviously a stud and Romero is to, but much more of unknown than most Dapper Dan participants due to his lack of attendance at big national meets.

There's definitely no way Lee is wrestling the DD with a torn ACL, especially against a guy like Daton Fix.

It really sucks because I was really looking forward to it the same way I was looking forward to Nickal vs Marsteller at the DD. It's unfortunate but I imagine that Spencer is looking forward to getting healthy physically and mentally as well. Losing his last match in high school like that when he was so close to legendary status is brutal.

Lee will always be a legend, but it's also going to come with the caveat that he lost his last match.
