He is now a notable gas bag on BTN. I was watching a show on BTN the other day with him and Glen Mason and some other guy. Dave came across as very uninformed, actually saying PSU had a tough finish with road games at Iowa and MSU. Also mentioned that a strong finish would impact recruiting and stated that Narduzzi was making inroads against Franklin. I don't follow recruiting but I thought I read here that Pitt was not doing that great in recruiting. Anyone else see that show?

What's funny is that I felt at the time, DW had the potential to be the greatest recruiting threat to us since the 70's.

I saw it, he's doing his best to talk down on us. He's a clown.

It's amazing how all of these guys have unending penis envy about PSU. It's in their blood that they are inferior to PSU and they cannot let it go. Think about Mark May and Dave W: these guys have accomplished a ton of things in their careers and reached some of the very top levels of their professions. But they still STILL have to subtly jab at PSU or prop up Pitt or our "rivalry" to try to quench that thirst. And their yinzer fans and media just eat it up. Can you imagine Blackledge doing this? Millen? Of course you can't.

My still all-time favorite moment was at Franklin's introductory "dominate the state" presser, where some Pittsburgh media clown said well what about that school in western PA? Um, wtf about it??? This is a PSU PRESS CONFERENCE. He's dominated Pitt in recruiting, we are 12th in the country, the series will be 3-1....good lord.

Wanny has some kind of "dual employment" contract with Fox Sports (Fox and FS1) and the BTN. Not sure if Fox is an investor in BTN or how precisely it works, but when they were introducing him on one of the shows, BTN said he worked for both networks / media companies.

Owned by the conference and 21st Century Fox, operated by Fox Sports.

Wanny sure does have a strange definition of "doing well against Franklin", LMFAO. Nearly as humerous as his definition of our tough road games remaining against Iowa and MSU......he's got it bass ackwards, we have two home and two away games remaining, the road games are @Indiana and @Buttgers.

Wow, now there are some inroads! :)

One guy aptly pointed out that Wanny seemed "uniformed." This hits the nail right on the head. If Wanny was the slightest bit informed he would still be Pitt's coach despite what the apologists would have you believe.

As loyal as he is to Pitt now, he was directly responsible for the fiasco that followed prior to Paul Chryst's arrival and I would imagine he probably feels a but guilty for that.

LOL. penis envy??? Doesn't May and Wanny have to have one first? Just get them some nice soothing cream for their vaginal itch.

Wannabe is a Pitt hack who got lucky he walked into one of the greatest ever offensive teams in pro football. They didn't have to have a defense. The rest of his coaching career basically sucked and only had two good years at Miami with an overall head coaching win percentage of .485 and 1 playoff win in 11 years. Had one really good season in five head coaching Pitt and lost the bowl game that year. Did win a bowl game the prior year with a 9-4 record.

Remember this...

http://www.sbnation.com/college-foo...tedt-dissed-penn-state-tv-james-franklin-pitt

Classless PSU basher who some media will always hire. Remember how Dorsett screamed at McSorley while he was being interviewed in the locker area after the Pitt win...Classless. Look how the NCAA rewarded Emmert.

Revenge is sweet and a dish best served cold. Franklin is making him look like the Wannabe that he is, and Nardouchey as well.

With Pornstache it's not so much a function of being "uniformed" as it is the fact that he is just not very bright. That's not a joke.

I agree, and he did a good job while her was there. The irony is that he is better than NorDog and Chryrst. The fact that Pitt fired him and will be forever a "coach turn over hell" type of program makes me laugh, Wanny would have been there for life and competed for ACC championships for a long time. I hate Pitt, but he did a very good job at a dumpster fire of a FB program. This is my opinion.

Is Wanny the better coaching option - for that program - than any of the clowns they have had since?
No doubt

Is he a "dead head" - a full-fledged, empty headed dolt - who's natural environment is a barstool in some "shot and a beer" joint in Aliquippa?
No doubt

PennSt. is beating Pitt in recruiting, not surprising, and will continue to do so in all likelihood, but these statistics are incredibly misleading.

1. Coaches brought in during the winter dead period, like Narduzzi and Franklin, have 2-3 weeks to contact recruits before signing day. You can't really consider those first classes as their own when judging someone's recruiting ability, they are at best trying to hold together their predecessor's class. Unless they poach recruits from their previous school. So the real period that their head-to-head begins is the 2016 class.

2. Unless I'm wrong, Derek Pitts is WVU and you left out Charles Reeves.

So the real head-to-head number is a Penn State advantage of 20-6. PSU already has a large lead in recruiting against Pitt, no need to embellish it.
